Calls for Service

April 17

Deputy Dylan Webb took a report on County Road 2960, Mountain View, of damage to a mailbox.

Corporal Logan Wake reviewed a forensic interview that a child victim and an ex-stepsibling had sexual contact when they were five or six years old but would not provide additional information. 

Deputies responded to County Road 2010, West Plains, for a wellbeing check. They were unable to get a response from anyone inside the residence. The reporting party requested entry be made into the residence. They discovered an individual deceased in the residence. The coroner and funeral home responded. No foul play is suspected. 

Deputy Webb took a report of theft of tools and vehicle parts from a property on US Highway 60, near Mountain View. 

Deputy Adriel Lisboa responded to County Road 7110, West Plains, to take a report of a theft. 

Deputy Michael E. Pauly received a call for an accidental shooting at Mercy Hospital Mountain View. 

Deputy Talon Millard received a call for assistance with Children's Division on State Route K in Pottersville. No charges or arrests have been made at this time. 

April 18

Deputy Webb assisted Children's Division with an investigation of child abuse. The report will be concluded as unsubstantiated. 

Deputy Melanie Roam took a report of credit card theft. 

April 19

Deputy Webb responded to County Road 2770, West Plains for a domestic incident. Neither party wished to pursue charges.

Deputy Webb took a report stolen of property from a residence on County Road 8270, West Plains. This investigation is ongoing.

April 20

Deputy Jared Hummel responded to County Road 6330 in reference to a disturbance with weapons involved. They took one individual into custody for domestic assault. 

Corporal Nicholas Bruno responded to the railroad crossing on County Road 1820 in reference to a subject trespassing on a train. The arrested a subject for an outstanding felony warrant from the state of Kentucky. He is held pending formal charges.

April 21

Deputy Jacob Hamby received a report of a stolen catalytic converter from a truck located on US Highway 160. 

Deputy Jordon Collins responded to a business located on US Highway 63 to investigate a report of harassment. 

April 22

Deputy First Class Travis Weaver while at the Sheriff's Office, detained an aggressive subject suspected to be under the influence and them placed on a 12-hour hold for safety.

During a routine traffic stop, the driver fled from Deputy Tessa Jens. After a pursuit, deputies arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. They also took a passenger into custody on active warrants from Christian County, Platte County, and Phelps County.

April 23

Deputy James Wardrip responded to County Road 3370, Mountain View, to serve a felony arrest warrant. While exiting the patrol vehicle, two gunshots were fired from the direction of the suspect's residence. Deputy Wardrip and other deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect, who acknowledged them but refused to exit the residence. Howell County SWAT and other assisting agencies were contacted. Upon the arrival of Howell County SWAT, they took the suspect into custody without further incident. 

Corporal Seth Smith received a call for service of property damage on State Route ZZ, West Plains.
