Officer Barrett responded to McFarland Dr for a report of property damage.
Officer Jerry Mingus responded to Ransom Road for an assault. After locating the other parties involved, he determined that an assault did take place. Two subjects were taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges. Probable cause statements have been complete and forwarded to the Howell County's prosecuting office in reference to this incident. 
May 23
Officer Connor Burnes responded to Main Street for a report of assault. He found one suspect had pushed another resulting in an injury. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
West Plains Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant located on Myrtle Street. During the course of the search warrant, they discovered controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Officers arrested two subjects and placed them on twenty-four hour holds for the illegal contraband located. 
Officer Brent Keepes received a report of an individual sexually assaulted by another family member approximately five years ago, having occurred within the city limits of West Plains. The investigation is ongoing.
Officer Austin Deshazo took a report of stealing that occurred in the Parkway Shopping Center. He identified a suspect and placed them on a 24 hour hold for felony stealing.
Officer Deshazo received a report of an inmate in the West Plains Police Jail brought suspected controlled substance into the jail facility. Charges are pending until lab results confirm.  
Officer Jacob Brixey took a report of stealing on Crestwood Circle. A suspect has been identified, and the case should be considered active and open at this time. 
May 24
Officer Ivie Powell responded to S. Kentucky Avenue in reference to property damage to the building. A vehicle struck the awning of the building, causing damage to it and leaving the scene without reporting the damage. This incident will be considered inactive due to a lack of evidence. 
Officer Brixey responded to McFarland Dr. to a report of a fire at an apartment. This case should be considered active and open pending further investigation.
Officer Deshazo responded to S Howell to a report of property damage. The victim reported extensive damage to a vehicle. The case is under investigation. 
During officers’ response to a call for service, a subject ran into the roadway from private property and began to yell and curse at officers. The intoxicated subject then blocked the flow of traffic by standing in the roadway, and refused to leave the street even after being given multiple warnings. Officers arrested the individual for disorderly conduct and failing to obey a lawful order and transported to the West Plains Jail.
May 25
Officer Deshazo assisted with a child custody exchange dispute. A report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
Officer Deshazo spoke to the victim of an assault. A report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office for referral. 
May 26
Officers responded to Lanton Road for a domestic assault in progress. The parties involved left the area. Officer Robert Shell located the subjects and arrested both for domestic assault.
Officer Brixey received a possible illicit substance from an individual. He placed the substance into evidence. This case should be considered active and open pending further investigation.
Officer Deshazo took a report from Linda Street regarding a child crime. A report will be forwarded to the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline. 
May 27
Officers responded to South Curry in reference to a male possibly being deceased. They conducted a death investigation and notified the next of kin.
Officer Joel Lovelace responded to Wildwood Terrace for a report of a catalytic converter theft. The incident is open and under investigation.  
Officers responded to W Broadway for a call of suspicious circumstances. Officers arrested an individual for possession of illegal substances.
Officers responded to the area of the pool at the Timbers subdivision for a suspicious vehicle. The call resulted in the arrest of a juvenile in possession of intoxicants. They released the juvenile to the parents. 
May 28
During a traffic stop, Cpl. Wesley Stuart deployed K9 Loki for a free air sniff of a backpack. K9 Loki alerted to the odor of narcotics emitting from the backpack. A search warrant application is being completed to search the backpack.
