“FREEDOM” Multi-Media Exhibit Celebrating America’s 250 Years in the Ozarks

West Plains Council on the Arts (WPCA) will host an exhibition entitled “Freedom” in the Gallery at the West Plains Civic Center, located at 110 St. Louis St. in West Plains, Mo. June 8 through July 17.
A “Meet-the-Artist” Reception will be held Wednesday, June 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Lobby.
As part of the national celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, WPCA presents a multi-media selection of work, featuring artists from the Ozarks. The theme “Freedom” is the inspiration for the exhibit which includes 24 pieces of original art by 9 individuals and 1 group of artists. The exhibit can be viewed during regular Civic Center hours.
Artists will include: L.L Broadfoot–Historical Posters, 1941; Calico Cabin Sew-ciety, 2004, West Plains, MO; Nancy Clayburn-Quilter, Summersville, Mo.; Robb Cox–Digital Pen & Ink, Willow Springs, Mo.; Jim Davis–Metal Sculpture, Thornfield, Mo.; Jane Hale–Oil Painting, West Plains, Mo.; Donna K. Lay–Contemporary Painting, West Plains, Mo.; Diane Pence–Acrylic Painting, West Plains, Mo.; Sally Robinson–Photography, West Plains, Mo.; Mark Quentin Wallen–Painting, Raymondville, Mo.; Delores Mercer Winkler–Multi-media, Pomona, Mo.
The exhibition is sponsored by the City of West Plains, the Harlin Museum, the West Plains Council on the Arts, and Missouri Humanities. The West Plains Council on the Arts receives funding from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
