Sisters Christy Graves and Sherry Hollis opened their doors for the first time on September 6, 2011. Sherry’s daughter, Shelby Gray, has been a part of the venture from the beginning. Today, these energetic women still operate one of fixtures of the downtown business community: Vintage Floral.
Last week, Vintage Floral celebrated 15 years in business. On Thursday, the Chamber of Commerce celebrated the milestone, presenting a certificate and saying a few words
"One of the things that makes Willow Springs special is having locally owned businesses that provide something unique to our community," said Chamber Director Kim McCormick. "Vintage Floral is a perfect example of that. For 15 years, they have been part of the fabric of our downtown, and we are so grateful for their investment in our community."
Chamber Treasurer Robert Hollis was quoted by the business’s Facebook profile as saying that Willow Springs is truly blessed to have a store like Vintage Floral, to be a go-to spot for gift giving needs, flowers, and more.
Pinky Gum also said a few words, saying it has been a joy to watch the business grow, and feeling she had a small part in Vintage Floral since she taught Sherry, Christy, and Shelby in school, according to the same post. Gum won the longest shopper award that day, shopping for over 5.5 hours.
“To say we’re a small town, family-ran business is an understatement,” commented the business online. “It’s taken a village to operate Vintage Floral from our employees to our family and friends. But most importantly it’s our family that has supported us through EVERYTHING! It’s nothing for our husbands to run a delivery if they are headed to WP, Granny to drop off a deposit or go to the Post Office, Bay to answer the phones, Garrett, Tucker, or Dewayne to move something, and/or Robert to build us something. It’s literally takes ALL of us and then some!”
Vintage Floral celebrated their longevity with three days of sales and celebrations, coinciding with their annual Fall Open House.
