Anita Louise Dow

Anita Louise Dow, 83, was born on December 26, 1937, to Richard Arthur and Eunice Agnes (Clayworth) Tyrer. She passed away on September 4, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Frank Dow on May 5, 1956. To this union three children were born, Russell, Rex, and Lanna.

Anita is survived by her two sons, Rusty Dow of West Plains, MO, Rex Dow and wife, Stephanie of West Plains, MO; one daughter, Lanna Tharp and husband Allen of Mountain View, MO; three granddaughters, Jessica Dow of High Point, NC, Sydney Higgins and Husband Sam of Lexington, NC, Chelsea Singleton of Jonesboro, AR; two grandsons, Nick and Mason Tharp of Mountain View, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dow; parents Richard and Eunice Tyrer; and four brothers, Larry, Steve, Terry, and Dick Tyrer.

Anita taught Sunday school classes and led other church departments for several years. She loved to crochet and has made many afghans and tiny crocheted butterflies that she loved to give to people. Anita was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Birch Tree Place and other nursing homes. She loved being a foster parent, along with caring for the elderly and people with special needs. Anita also loved to travel and camp.  She loved spending time and taking trips with her family and spending time with her neighbors at The Timbers.  Most of all she loved her God!  

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri with Pastor Greg Worley officiating.  Visitation was held prior to the service from 2-3:30 p.m., also at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Turkey Oak Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.  Memorial donations may be made to Gideons or Uniquely Perfect People! 1608 County Road 2850, Mountain View, MO 65548.  Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
