Ava Briscoe

Ava Mae (Plaster) Briscoe, daughter of the late Otto and Della (Parsons) Briscoe, was born November 15, 1941, in Brixey, Missouri, and departed this life December 28, 2022, at Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri. She was 81 years, 1 month, and 13 days of age.
Ava grew up in Blanche, Missouri, with a family of twelve brothers and sisters. She also attended school in Blanche. She was a hard worker and when she wasn’t working as a homemaker in her own home, she was working at a nursing home as a caregiver, taking care of others. She always cared and put others before herself. Ava was a devoted and wonderful mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend.
She was united in marriage to Joy Lee Briscoe on June 3, 1983, in Alton, Missouri. Joy passed away August 4, 2021.
Ava enjoyed canning and quilting. She also loved going camping and fishing with Joy. 
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Plaster, Harold Plaster, Cleon Plaster, and Dwight Plaster, two sisters, Ida Plaster and Joyce Faye Lewis, and one grandson, Dusty James Kincaid.
Ava is survived by two daughters, Barbara Crisp and her husband, Matt, of Houston, Missouri, and Sharon Davis of West Plains, Missouri, three sons, Everett Davis and his wife, Jamie, of Willow Springs, Missouri, Rob Briscoe and his wife, Melinda, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Rick Briscoe and his wife, Donna Callahan, of Willow Springs, Missouri, one brother, Jerry Plaster of Rogersville, Missouri, four sisters, Minnie Dowsey of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Wilma  Taylor of Liberty, Missouri, Mollie Riley of Mansfield, Missouri, and Margaret Holden of Beggs, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Samantha Ebert and her husband, Larry, Jessie Johnson, Jerry Lee Davis and his wife, Casie, and Sarah Mae Davis, ten great-grandchildren, Gwen Kincaid, Skyler Ebert, Tyler Ebert, Annie Johnson, David Johnson, Edward Johnson, Ethan Davis, Wyatt Davis, Avery Davis, and Paisleigh Davis, one great-great-grandson, Oliver James Kincaid, many other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Visitation for Ava Briscoe will be held Saturday, January 7, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove. Memorial services will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home, with Brother Clyde Stage officiating. Song selections were “Precious Memories”, “I Can Only Imagine”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”.  Burial will be in Holmes Flatrock Cemetery, Willow Springs. Cremation and services are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
