David Stewart

Funeral services for David Claude Stewart, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at Curry Street Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Stewart passed away at 11:50 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at West Plains, Missouri.
He was born October 4, 1943, at West Plains, Missouri, to Clyde Stewart, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Pentecost Stewart. David's elementary school days were spent in a one room school at Blue Mound and Pottersville.  He graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1961. On March 27, 1965, he was married at West Plains, to Joyce Mayfield. David and Joyce along with His brother Junior purchased a ready mix in 1968 where he spent almost 22 years anticipating returning to the farm raising cows and calves which was his passion in life.   People, family, friends, and the men he worked with were very important to David. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  Mr. Stewart served with the Missouri National Guard. He was a Cardinals and Chiefs fan. Mr. Stewart was a member of Curry Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Stewart, of the family home; two children, Jim Stewart and fiancé, Julie Bolton, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Stephen Stewart, St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Julie Stewart and Kari Christensen; five grandchildren, Sarah, Annika, Evan, Margaux and Katie; his mother, Ruth Stewart; one brother, Clyde Stewart, Jr. and wife, Jane, West Plains; one sister, Bonnie Hille and husband, Rod, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Loretta Jinson, Bob Mayfield, Lynn Mayfield and wife, Carol, James Mayfield, Reta Langston and husband, Neil and Ruby Mayfield; several nieces and nephews; and his ranch manager, Seth Barry.
His father and one nephew, Clyde Stewart, III (Chuck), preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, in the Langston Street Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blue Mound Cemetery.
