Edwin Leroy Taylor, a resident of Willow Springs, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 while at his residence. He was born March 31, 1960 in Warner Robins, Georgia to Wilson Dale and Elizabeth Lucinda (Ferguson) Taylor and was 60 years old.
Ed grew up in San Bernardino, California where he graduated from Colton Union High School in 1978. He subsequently attended San Bernardino College. He lived in Yuma and Phoenix Arizona before spending his last years in Willow Springs, Missouri. Ed was a long-time member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and was known by the name of Lord Khyron. As Lord Khyron he competed in tournaments wearing armor and wielding weapons that he had personally crafted. Despite Ed's giant stature he had a delicate artisan's touch. He was a skilled modeler, building models and realistically painting pewter models for dioramas, Dungeons and Dragons, and just for pure enjoyment. Ed was particularly proud of his service as a Sergeant in the Arizona Department of Corrections and as a reserve deputy sheriff for Maricopa County, Arizona. With Ed's passing the world has lost a real character. His family will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Dale Taylor and mother, Elizabeth Lucinda Ferguson.
Edwin leaves two surviving brothers, Stephan Taylor of Willow Springs and Stewart Taylor of Austin, Texas and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service for Edwin will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
