Frank Bennett Plachy

Frank Bennett Plachy, Sr., 94, of Caulfield, Missouri, passed away on May 28, 2026, at his home. He was born March 4, 1932, in Orange Grove, Texas, to Violet Winona Vines and Frank Plachy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a devoted teacher and preacher for the churches of Christ all his life.
 
He completed his high school education at Abilene Christian Academy and attended college at Abilene Christian University, Harding University and South Dakota State University. He worked numerous jobs while attending school. While he was in Searcy, he raised and sold watermelons, one among all his jobs, where he met his future wife.
 
On August 1, 1954, he married Ethel Mae Lang, at Judsonia, Arkansas. Frank was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Moody congregation. He loved the Lord, his family and working on his farm. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends to visit and play games.
 
Frank was a faithful Christian who spread the Word of God for 73 years as a gospel preacher and teacher. He preached full-time at Crossroad Church of Christ for about 40 years until he retired from full-time work in March 2022 at the age of 90. During his lifetime, he wrote tracts, did missionary work in South Dakota and the Philippines, produced a radio program, held gospel meetings and preached in many congregations in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and did personal work in many locations.
 
He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Ethel Mae Lang Plachy, of the home; two children, Sabrina Ford of Moody, Missouri and Frank B. Plachy, Jr. of West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jared Hall and wife Ambrea of West Plains, Missouri; Wesley Hall and wife Alyssa of Brentwood, Tennessee; Regina Hall Gregory and husband Adam of Springfield, Missouri; Amber Plachy Shaw and husband Damien of Neosho, Missouri; and Tabitha Plachy of Quitman, Georgia; and five great-grandchildren, Emerson Hall and Ethan Hall of Brentwood, Tennessee; Emmett Hall of West Plains, Missouri; Lilly Raines of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; and Jamison Russell of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Jerry Plachy and wife Peggy of West Plains, Missouri; Joe Plachy of West Plains, Missouri; and Paul Plachy and wife Roberta of Leicester, Massachusetts; and many nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vivian Denise Plachy Hall, one great-granddaughter, Ivy Denise Jackson, his parents, one brother, Ed Ray Plachy, and three sisters, Faye Ann Plachy, Glenda Faye Plachy Lunn and Anna Pearl Plachy Bruhn.
 
Services will be held Friday, June 5, at 2 p.m. at the Moody Church of Christ, with brother David Gibson delivering the message to all.
