Frank Matejek

Frank John Matejek, 87, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 8:13 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Brooke Haven Healthcare.

He was born January 28, 1939, at Derby, Connecticut, to Frank Matejek and Anne Kochanowski Matejek. Mr. Matejek was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. Anyone who got to know Frank knew he was a content man. He spent a large portion of his life with a good horse or mule under him and usually had a good tree dog or two around. He loved spending time with Kristy and Ashlen running to barrel races on the weekends or chasing deer and turkey with John and his kids during the hunting seasons. He was often found on a river or lake fishing with a couple good life long buddies as well. These simple things in life was all he needed to be happy and content. Oh and Frank didn't know a stranger. Probably his favorite pastime was sharing a story and reliving memories just about anywhere you ran into him in town. I know we'll all miss his stories!

He is survived by two children, John Matejek and Kristy Matejek (Roger Shaw), all of Thomasville, Missouri, four grandchildren, Isabel, Mason, Easton and Ashlen Matejek; one sister, Pattie Humphreys (Harold), State of California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, one brother, Ray Matejek and his former wife and lifelong friend, Marianne Matejek, preceded him in death.

Arrangements under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri. Online condolences may be left at www.robertsondrago.com
