Glenda Jean (Conner) Counts

Glenda Jean (Conner) Counts was born March 23, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Truman Conner and Shirley (Atchison) Conner. She passed away August 26, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri surrounded by family and loved ones.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father Truman Conner of Eminence. She spent most of her life around Eminence and Willow Springs and married her best friend also of Eminence, Donnie Counts, on June 24, 1978. She is survived by Donnie Counts of the home and their three children: Michael Counts and daughters: Sidney and Quincy, Jacob Counts and children: Evan and Brylee, Elizabeth Counts Poole and sons: James, Jordan and Joseph. Glenda loved all her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly and always welcomed their friends into her home and made them feel like family as well.
She is also survived by her mother Shirley Conner, one sister Janet Terrill and Husband Mike and children of Summersville, two brothers Gene Conner and wife Debbie and children of Eminence, Steven Conner and wife Dawn also of Eminence. There are many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and loved spending time with.
Glenda had a lifelong love of volleyball and horses. She continued to watch and pull for the Redwings of Eminence and her love of horses bordered on her being called “horse crazy”. One of her favorite things was being outdoors and she spent every minute she could in the sunshine. Feeling the sun on her face was another joy of life she truly loved, either at the river swimming, canoeing, or going on wild boat rides with family or camping and cooking out with family and friends. She will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved her as she never met a stranger and always made sure to make the best out of any situation. If you were around Glenda, you were smiling.
There will be a Celebration of Life/cookout at a later date to honor her life and her love of being outdoors as well as her enjoyment of gathering with family and friends. Plans for this will be made available when finalized.
