Joy Lee Briscoe

Joy Lee Briscoe was born February 9, 1943, in Vanzant, Missouri, to Floyd and Edna (Smith) Briscoe.  He passed away August 4, 2021, at 78 years, 5 months, and 26 days of age.
Joy grew up at Bluebuck, Missouri. He was self-employed by cutting and selling firewood. Joy lived by hard work and integrity.  
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  His favorite was turkey hunting.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Joy was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Briscoe and Willard Briscoe, and one grandchild, Dusty Kincaid.
He is survived by his wife, Ava, of the home in Willow Springs, Missouri, three sons, Rob Briscoe and his wife, Melinda, Everett Davis, and his wife, Jamie, Rick Briscoe and his wife, Donna Callahan, two daughters, Barbara Crisp and her husband, Matt, and Sharon Davis, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren who will miss him.
Graveside memorial services for Joy Briscoe were held Saturday, August 7 at 10:00 AM at Holmes Flatrock Cemetery in Douglas County, Missouri. Song selections were “No Tears In Heaven”, “This World Is Not My Home”, “A Beautiful Life”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Burial was in Holmes Flatrock Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, Missouri.
