LEON OLIVER RINEAR, JR.

Leon Oliver Rinear Jr, United States Navy Veteran, was called to be with the Lord on August 2, 2021, at the age of 79 of natural causes. Leon was born in Camden, New Jersey on January 20, 1942, to Leon Oliver Rinear Sr. and Ruth Rinear.
Leon enlisted in the United States Navy on January 27, 1960. He was a First-Class Petty Officer and served as an Engineer man and a Signalman. Signalman being his main duty. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Cuban Conflict. He retired from serving in the Navy in 1988.
On April 4,1964 in New Jersey Leon was married to Shirley T. Rinear. They were happily married for 57 years.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Oliver Rinear and Ruth Rinear, sister Carol Emmel, and grandson Timothy M. Didas Jr.
Leon is survived by his wife, Shirley T. Rinear; brothers: Billy Rinear, Robert Rinear, Johnny Rinear, Dennis Rinear; a sister, Diana (Rinear); his daughters: Tammy Alcala, Carol Rinear, Leighann Didas, Vicki Rinear, Patricia Wilhelm; and his son Leon Rinear III. Grandchildren: Amanda Frisbee, David Frisbee, Billy Alcala, Gwyndolyne Alcala, Tiffany Alcala, Tabatha Dobbins, Lissia Rinear, Hunter Didas, Austin Didas, Derrick Jones, Dakota Jones, Steven Rinear, Malissa Rinear, Thomas Spence, Leon Rinear, Christian Rinear, and Katie Rinear, and 14 great grandchildren.
Leon was a dedicated and protective husband and father. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing and playing pranks on others. He had an admirable work ethic and worked hard to ensure his family was adequately provided for. His passions in life were cars and working with wood. He enjoyed traveling, camping, celebrating holidays with family and friends (especially the 4th of July), theme parks, watching movies, playing Hillbilly Bones and was the Bonehead Champ, music and dancing with his wife. Leon was loved by his family and friends and his persona will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Leon's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project and they may be left at the funeral home.
A memorial service for Leon will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the family residence at 17591 Freedom Road, Willow Springs, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
