Reece Duwayne Cossey passed away on September 25, 2022, at Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri. He was born on October 18, 1950, in Bakersfield, California, to Tom Owen and Mary Viola (McCraw) Cossey.
Duwayne joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his service, he became a welder and worked as one for many years until he retired. He was also a coach for the Howell County Special Olympics from 2010 to 2014.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary Cossey, and three brothers, Larry, Freddy, and David Cossey.
Duwayne is survived by his life partner, Jerri Miller of Mountain View, MO; two children, Laura Klinker of Tehachapi, CA, and Michael and Natalie Cossey of Joplin, MO; sister and brothers-in-law, David Everett, Larry Miller, Ronnie Miller and wife, Donna, Sandra Collins and husband, Larry, Amy West, and Jamie West; and one granddaughter, Alice Cossey.
Duwayne was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A family-guided memorial service will be held from 10-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, at The Shepherds Table, 8183 St. Highway 60, Mountain View, Missouri. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
