Ruby O. Leonard

Ruby O. Leonard, 94, best known to many as “Nanny,” of Mountain View, Missouri went to join her heavenly family on November 6, 2020.  Ruby was born on October 1, 1926, in Mountain View, Missouri to Jim and Grace (Renegar) Reese.

 

She was married to Harold Leonard on March 5, 1944, and to this union, four children were born.

 

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Harold: her parents, Jim and Grace Reese; son-in-law, Troyce Reese; and siblings, Virgie “Sis” Smith, Roy Reese, Willie Reese, Violet Shandy Hicks, Jimmy Reese, and Lorene Tune.

 

She is survived by her children, Larry and Debbie Leonard, Judy and Darrell Mohesky, Barbara Reese all of Mountain View, MO, and Roger and Rita Leonard of Lawson, MO; grandchildren, Sheila (Reese) VanAalsburg and Brent, Tracey (Leonard) Harris and Robert, Todd Leonard and Brekken, Justin Leonard and Angie, Darrel Mohesky, Jr., Tammy (Mohesky) Mitchell and Roger, Scott Mohesky and Christa, Greg Bryant and Veronica; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Quentin, Tessie, Codie, Megan, Tyler, Jared, Ryan, Nathan, Dylan, Jacob, Jaxon, Trinity, Sam, Liz, Lilly, MaryJane, Tyler, Ally, Liam, Liyah, Evan, Matthew, Annie, Christian, Katie, Jordyn, and Noah; and great-great-grandchildren, Madyson, Jaxon, Jace, Emmalynn, and Michael.

 

Ruby loved her church and spending time with her family. As long as her health permitted, she could be seen cheering at the soccer field.

 

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Mountain View Christian Church with Pastor Eric Tripp officiating. Visitation was held Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
