Wyatt Gregory Atkins

Wyatt Gregory Atkins, age 16, passed away on July 10, 2022, after fighting a long, brave battle with Coats Plus Syndrome. He was born on October 7, 2005, in Springfield, Missouri to Scott and Laura Ann (Brown) Atkins.
Wyatt is survived by his parents, Scott and Laura Atkins of West Plains, MO; sister, Harper of the home; brother, Hayden and his wife, Olga of Columbia, MO; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Carol Atkins of Mountain View, MO; maternal grandparents, Greg and Shannon Brown of Van Buren, MO; maternal great grandparents, Wiley and Charlene Lewis of Winona, MO; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins. 
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Harold and Ethel Pitts of Mountain View, MO; paternal great-grandparents, Everett and Wanda Atkins of Winona, MO; maternal great-grandparent, Bob Douglas of Winona, MO; and maternal great-grandparents, Maurice and Rosemary Brown of Van Buren, MO. 
Wyatt had an incredible spirit with an infectious smile that brought joy to everyone he knew. He set such a tremendous example of courage, bravery, and perseverance throughout his entire life. Wyatt also had a wonderful sense of humor and an incredibly large heart. He was a generous giver of hugs and hand kisses, as he always made sure everyone knew how much he loved them. If Wyatt wasn’t at home listening to country music, playing board games, drinking sweet tea, or watching his favorite show on TV, you could find him taking boat rides on the river, riding roller coasters at Silver Dollar City or Walt Disney World, or visiting his favorite restaurant, Hinode. Wyatt was a bright light that made an enormous impact on everyone in his life, and he will always be remembered for his smile, his kindness, and his strength. 
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, at Pomona Christian Church, Pomona, Missouri with Pastor Marcus Allen and Lucas Brown officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-11:00 a.m., also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
