I was deeply saddened to read in the Howell County News about Father Wall's retirement from shepherding the local parish at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs, Mo. I was even more heartbroken to learn that Father Wall's retirement was hastened by the recent act of arson at the adjoining church building, lost to fire.
What an unfortunate compounded tragedy for both the local church and our community! We are now ALL a little poorer for the congregation's double-loss!
Our prayers are with Father Wall that God will richly bless him for every sacrifice he has made in ministry to Christ during many years of faithful service.
"His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord (Matthew 25:23, Douay-Rheims Bible)."
