Although totally amazed by Mr. Vokac's statement regarding the similarity between his views on the Covid crisis and those of my own, I adamantly attest that the coincidence was quite accidental, never intending alarm or personal distress for an opinion of mine mirroring his in any way.
Concerning Mr. Vokac's dubious question about my obvious reference to "innocent life," if I thought for an instant that the gentleman would understand my explanation of the Law of Reciprocity which proactively asserts that "we treat others the way we want to be treated (Matthew 7:12)" and retroactively decrees that we pay for our crimes in equal measure "life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise (Exodus 21:23-25)," then I would most gladly clarify my statement in minute detail about this perfectly simple universal human law.
However, regarding Christ's own warning, "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces (Matthew 7:6)," I am afraid any explanation that I might make to Mr. Vokac would merely devolve into a public "urinating contest," which I am sure the readership of the Howell County News would in no way want to witness.
My unwillingness to "cross swords" with Mr. Vokac should not suggest the possibility of his spurious opinions ever being right or the slim chance that my well-founded views are marginally wrong. My reluctance is merely a courtesy for the sake of basic decorum.
Most humbly and respectfully yours,
Edwin Woolsey, Willow Springs, Missouri
