John 1:13 ...children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God (Berean Study Bible).
Recently, a local antagonist questioned my reference to "innocent life." At the time, I had no intention of being snared by the individual's contentious taunt; however, I do see value in further clarification. Consequently, we will objectively examine humanity's most ancient "Law of Reciprocity" to grasp the singular importance of protecting the sanctity of innocent life.
Scripture clearly establishes that all human life is planned and ordained through the foreknowledge and election of God, regardless of any adult's opinion whether the conception was convenient, inconvenient, legitimate, illegitimate, etc. God declared to Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you... (Jeremiah 1:5). Just as God predestined the birth of His prophet long before the man's conception, David also said, "Thank you (God) for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out 'before a single day had passed' (Psalms 139:13-16)." Here again, before the very first day of David's physical conception, God willed that existence from the beginning of the fetus until the end of the old man, and while the living mass of cells progressed through birth, growth, old age, and eventual demise, the Almighty diligently oversaw His unique creation, guarding the entire process according to His exclusive will.
For this reason, David's son - King Solomon quoted his beloved mother by saying, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed (Proverbs 31:8)."
No better admonition for the defense of guiltless life has ever been expressed than the order of Solomon's mother. Today, self-proclaimed proponents of so-called "progressive ideology" champion the destruction of unborn innocents who are all foreordained by God. Please, do not be swayed by such murderous liars who rightfully should all "volunteer" to be euthanized themselves before militantly advocating the death of defenseless children... by the authority of a much older universal code common to humanity.
Although our technology has advanced exponentially across the ages (Dan. 12:4), intrinsic human behavior and its associated vices are exactly the same from the very first moment homo-sapiens began populating this planet. Absolutely nothing is new about either our virtues or our crimes. Thus, from the beginning, our most primitive ancestors created a law to govern our social interactions in relation to innocent life. In a most astute way, mankind's first judges established both an idealistic principle and a legal penalty in one simple ruling known as the Law of Reciprocity. While being mentioned by Noah, Moses, and Jesus, these men were not the first or only adherents of this global maxim. Without exception, every civilization around the world has codified this same dual Law of Reciprocity in one form or another.... the Native Americans, Buddha, Confucius, Hammurabi, Mohamed, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, Taoism, Zoroastrianism, etc. We have perpetually known to protect innocence or face equivalent consequences for our failed infraction.
The first part of the Law of Reciprocity proactively states, "Treat others the way you want to be treated," and then retroactively, the same rule inversely declares in increments matching the crime, "life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise (Exodus 21:23-25)."
Today, in Western society, we first notice this ancient rule at the time of Noah, "Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind," and for that reason all humanity must be fearfully accountable for innocent life (Genesis 9:6). More recently, we witness Jesus teaching the very same tenet, "In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets (Matthew 7:12)." But did you realize that when Moses codified the law, the incident involved the injury/death of an unborn child, i.e., the crime of abortion?
"If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise (Exodus 21:22-25)."
Note: the final verdict of Moses' Law of Reciprocity was based on physical injury to innocent life, without which the husband and the judges were only permitted to agree on a fine to compensate for the trauma of premature birth. However, if the innocents were harmed, then the level of punishment for guilt was no longer in the court's domain but must match the outcome of the crime... by divine order, not man's bias.
Today, there is absolutely nothing fair or just about American jurisprudence after the unpunished murders of 62,000,000 (million) innocent babies whose eternal existence was foreordained by Almighty God before this world was even formed. However, akin to the local antagonist who ridiculed my reference to "innocent life," the dishonest perpetrators of this modern American genocide are far from being "off the hook" for their heinous crimes, as Jesus said, "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father (Matthew 18:10)." The God who sees every tiny sparrow fall keeps very precise records, and judgment is coming to America when 62,000,000 angry angelic guardians assail this reprobate nation in retribution for each child denied the divine right to live.
Honestly, in light of this current global plague, God's judgment is already here in reaction to our militant premeditated sin. Now is the time to repent for our bloodguilt, rather than arrogantly persist in our godless abominations.
