Calls for Service

June 29

Deputy Austin Ryan responded to the area of County Road 8890 referencing a missing person.

DFC Jordon Collins responded to County Road 2900 for a report of an unresponsive individual sitting in a pick-up truck parked on the road. He arrested the individual on an active outstanding warrant.

Sergeant Travis Weaver responded to the Casey's General Store on Broadway Street in West Plains at the request of the Missouri State Highway Patrol for a narcotics K9 Deployment. He deployed K9 Ares who did not alert.

Corporal Jacob Hamby received a call for service in Caulfield in regard to an aggressive subject possibly armed with a knife.

Sergeant Weaver responded to the area of Private Road 3424 in Mountain View for the report of a burglary. He conducted an investigation and this case will be closed out until further information is discovered.

Sergeant Weaver responded to the Conoco Gas station in Pomona for a report of a gas drive-off. He contacted the suspect and they claimed they would return to pay their bill.

Deputy Avery Stolba responded to an address on County Road 4220, West Plains, for a suicide attempt. Once on scene, life-saving measures were given to the victim, but unfortunately, the individual passed away due to the injuries. He completed an investigation of the incident.

Sergeant Weaver responded to area of State Route 17 in West Plains for the report of a domestic altercation. An investigation resulted in the arrest of one of the parties involved. Formal Charges will be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

July 30

Corporal Timothy Gordon attempted to make a traffic stop with a four-wheeler ATV in the Mountain View area. The ATV failed to yield which resulted in a short pursuit before the ATV ultimately died and came to a stop. The incident resulted in the arrest of two subjects for

active arrest warrants and resisting arrest. Formal charges are pending.

Corporal Hamby responded to State Route 17 in West Plains to assist Childrens Division with an investigation.

Deputy Kyle Hambelton took a report of identity theft. 

Deputy Kory Taylor received a call for service in regard to animal neglect.

Deputy Stolba responded to County Road 3040, Mountain View, for an individual slumped over the steering wheel. Mountain View first responders arrived on scene and declared the individual deceased. Howell County Sheriff's Office investigators assisted with the investigation. This is an ongoing investigation.

Deputy Hambelton responded to State Route 17, West Plains, for a domestic altercation.

July 1

Deputy Taylor conducted a traffic stop on US 160 and arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. 

Deputy Vice spoke to an individual regarding a court order of protection violation. He arrested the suspect and charges will be sent to the prosecutor. 

Deputy Nicholas Barslow responded to a juvenile offense in the area of N Illinois Ave, Brandsville. A juvenile referral form and Probable Cause Statement were sent to the Juvenile Office.

Deputy Ryan conducted a VIN verification.

Deputy Stolba responded to a residence on Private Road 6922, West Plains, for a domestic altercation. After an investigation, the victim wished not to file charges, so he put the 12-hour rule in place.

July 2

Corporal Barnes received a call for service regarding a domestic disturbance located in Caulfield. Each party stated a verbal altercation took place but during the incident, one cornered the other in the bathroom and caused them to fear for their safety. They took the male into custody due to his intoxicated state and inability to manage his emotions. They placed him on a 12-hour hold.

Deputy Nicholas Barslow took a report of an auto theft. The matter is under investigation.

July 3

Deputy West conducted a traffic stop on County Road 6970. He arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. 

Deputy First Class Austin DeShazo took a report of missing cattle. The investigation will continue if further evidence is found.

July 4

Deputy West responded to the area of State Route AA for a report of a court order violation.

July 5

Deputy Stolba conducted a warrant arrest at an address on County Road 3780, Willow Springs.
