July 4
Deputy Jacob Hamby received a report of a property damage report involving a mailbox damaged at County Road 6420. Dispatch received more calls of people with their mailbox destroyed as well. He made contact with multiple victims.
July 5
Deputy Dakota Millard responded to Mountain View for a report of a violation of an order of protection. He made contact with the respondent and asked them to leave the residence. The respondent left the residence without incident.
Deputy Hamby took a report of property damage from Mountain View.
Deputy James Wardrip responded to a violation of an order of protection on State Route WW, Mountain View. This incident is the second time. He placed the subject on a 24-hour hold at the Howell County Detention Center and a probable cause statement form will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
July 6
Deputy Melanie Roam received a request that an Investigator with the Missouri Department of Social Services, Children's Division, needed a deputy to assist with an investigation on County Road 2380.
While on patrol, Deputy Michael Pauly observed a vehicle driving south on State Route AD. He observed the vehicle driving north in the south bound lane. Deputy Pauly drove into the ditch to avoid the vehicle. As he attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated and traveled at a high rate of speed. Eventually he found the driver parked in a driveway. With assistance from Deputy Hummel they arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated.
Deputy Talon Millard received a call of a possible property damage that occurred on County Road 1540 of West Plains. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
July 7
Deputy Pauly received a call of a burglary at County Road 5120 Willow Springs.
Deputy Robert Malone responded to a property damage report located on County Road 4490, Pomona.
July 8
Deputy Roam received a report of a burglary at 3342 County Road 1710, West Plains. The investigation continues.
Deputy Dylan Webb responded to a residence located on County Road 6750 for a burglary report. The reporting party stated when they arrived at the residence to do lawn maintenance, they noticed the residence and a shed broken into and items were missing from inside both. There was also property damage to a vehicle.
Deputy Webb took a report of a chain saw theft from State Route AB.
Deputy Malone took a report of an assault on County Road 5900, Willow Springs.
Deputy Pauly received a call of death at County Road 9370 West Plains as Deputy Howell County Coroner.
Deputy Hummel received a report of an assault at County Road 6620 near West Plains. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor for assault in the first degree and burglary in the first degree.
July 9
While on patrol to look for an individual with a warrant, Deputy T. Millard observed a vehicle park at an address on County Road 3080. The passenger tossed 2 explosive devices and suspected drug paraphernalia from the vehicle. Deputies arrested the subject for the devices and outstanding warrants. The driver gave a controlled substance to another deputy. Officers rendered the explosive devices safe. Charges are being filed through the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Deputy Roam received a report of a violation of an Ex-Parte Order of Protection. The suspect locked himself inside the bathroom in the residence. The suspect left before officers arrived.
Deputy Webb responded to County Road 5120 for a report of littering. He located a name within the trash and will contact them to remove the trash.
Deputy Malone responded to Willow Springs Police Department to take a stolen police report.
