Calls For Service

May 31

Deputy Michael Pauly responded to County Road 4950 for a domestic situation.

Deputy James Wardrip received a call for a suspicious vehicle on County Road 4220, West Plains. The caller reported that when he tried to make contact with the driver the suspect displayed a gun in his waistband and drove off. Deputy Wardrip arrested the subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance. A probable cause statement form may be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.

June 1

Deputy Tessa Jens responded to County Road 1290 in reference to peace disturbance. A probable cause statement for peace disturbance will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney. 

Deputy Dakota Millard took a report of a financial scam. 

Deputy Jens took a report of a stolen vehicle.

June 2

Corporal Seth R. Smith took a report of property damage. A report of tampering with electronic monitoring equipment will be forwarded to the juvenile office.

June 3

Deputy D. Millard responded to U.S. Highway 63 in West Plains for a dog bite report. He made contact with the victim and took photos of the injuries.

Deputy Jacob Hamby received a call for two German Shepherds of the neighboring property that killed turkeys and kittens at County Road 9300, West Plains. He advised both parties of civil remedies.

While on routine patrol, Corporal Smith overhead a caller contacted the West Plains Police Department and advised they observed a male and female subject physically force a juvenile into a van on the side of the road. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. 

June 4

Missouri Department of Social Services and a Children's Division Investigator requested assistance with a hotline call in reference to possible child abuse. Deputies made contact with the family. The allegations were denied by the children. The Investigator will follow up with the family at a later date to address family needs.
