January 23
Deputy First Class Seth Smith conducted a traffic stop on East Hickory Street in which fentanyl and related paraphernalia were seized from the vehicle. The suspected fentanyl will be sent to the crime lab for analysis. DFC Smith took one subject into custody. Formal charges will be pursued.
Deputy Devon Mendenhall took a report of a possible stolen mailbox on County Road 2320, Pomona.
While routine patrol Deputy Mendenhall observed a motorcycle without a license plate. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, it failed to yield, and a short pursuit resulted. He apprehended the operator and transported them to Howell County Jail on outstanding warrants. The operator is now pending formal charges from the incident.
Deputy Dakota Millard took a report of a possible stolen cell phone. The owner could show that another individual had possession of the phone. The investigation will continue.
January 24
Deputy First Class Smith received a call for a domestic assault on County Road 6070. No charges will be pursued.
Deputy D. Millard took a report of identity theft on State Route PP.
January 25
Deputy James Wardrip responded to County Road 1500 for a well-being check. He discovered a deceased person at the residence. With no evidence of foul play, the incident is closed.
Deputy First Class Smith responded with EMS to State Route CC for an unresponsive person. They initiated CPR but the person later passed. Nothing further will follow.
January 26
Deputy Adriel T. Lisboa took a report of a runaway juvenile.
Deputy Tessa Jens responded to County Road 6140, Dora for a report of domestic assault. She discovered a verbal altercation at the location. Both parties separated and nothing further is needed.
Deputy D. Millard took a report of property damage on County Road 4730.
Deputy D. Millard responded to County Road 2390 for a well-being check. He found the subject deceased from what appeared to be natural causes. Nothing further is needed.
January 27
Deputy Talon Millard responded to County Road 9650 in Koshkonong for a report of stealing.
January 28
Corporal Matthew Roberts took a call of a domestic disturbance occurring in the parking lot of Howell County Sheriff’s Office. No further investigation is needed.
Corporal Nicholas Bruno took a report of a stolen vehicle from County Road 6720.
