Incidents 
January 12
One individual was arrested at a residence on State Route 14 on an active Howell County warrant. 
A male subject came to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office to report a dog bite. 
A traffic stop was conducted on U.S. Highway 63 for having a headlight out. The driver was issued a citation and released. 
January 13
A traffic stop was conducted on U.S. Highway 63. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on several warrants, driving while suspended and drug related charges. 
A deceased male was reported at a residence on County Road 1990 in Willow Springs. There were no signs of foul play, and the death was ruled to be from natural or medical causes. 
A traffic stop was conducted on U.S. Highway 63, after a vehicle failed to yield, nearly causing a traffic accident. One female subject was issued a summons for failure to register a motor vehicle. 
A driver was arrested on Marianna Drive after being stopped for not driving on the ride side of the roadway. The driver was found to be intoxicated. 
January 14
A traffic stop was conducted on County Road 6310 near State Route AB in West Plains. The driver was arrested on a warrant for non-support and was issued citations for exceeding the posted speed limit, driving while revoked and failure to maintain financial responsibility. 
A male subject was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. The stop occurred on U.S. Highway 160. 
January 15
An assault was reported at Dollar General on U.S. Highway 160 near South Fork. The incident remains under investigation. 
A stranded motorist was assisted on U.S. Highway 63 near Pomona. One male subject was taken into custody at the scene on an outstanding warrant and drug related charges. 
January 16
A burglary was reported at a property on County Road 4000 in West Plains. The investigation is ongoing. A possible suspect has been identified. 
A report of forgery was received from a resident on State Route K. A suspect has been identified, and the investigation continues. 
A domestic assault was reported at a residence on Illinois Avenue in Brandsville. After an investigation, an arrest was made. Formal charges are pending.

January 17
A assault was reported on County Road 6540. An arrest was made, and formal charges are pending. 
January 18
A domestic disturbance was reported on State Route K. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, but did request a well-being check on the aggressor. Contact was not able to be made. 
A domestic assault was reported at a residence on County Road 6810. There were no visible injuries on either party, and neither one of them wished to pursue charges. 
An attempted traffic stop resulted in a vehicle leading deputies on a pursuit into Ozark County. The stop initiated on County Road 6970 in West Plains. The driver failed to yield to law enforcement, and eventually was involved in a minor accident on County Road 349 in Ozark County, which disabled the vehicle. Neither the driver, nor the passenger, were injured. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on active felony warrants. Drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle. Additional charges for felony resisting arrest were forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 
February 7
A routine traffic stop was initiated on County Road 2570 in West Plains for failure to signal. A firearm was observed in the vehicle, prompting a search of the vehicle. A bag of a white crystalline substance was also found in the vehicle, and the driver was taken into custody. A probable cause statement was forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 
February 8
An agency assist was conducted with the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, resulting in the recovery of a stolen computer. The investigation continues. 
A traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63 resulted in citations for driving while suspended and displaying or possessing the license plates of another. 
During a traffic stop on County Road 6070 in West Plains, a driver was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. 
February 9
A suicidal male was reported near Sims Valley Lake. The man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare.
