Incidents

February 15

While on patrol, Lieutenant Jason Long was flagged down by a group of people near a business on U.S. Highway 160. Contact was made with the group, who stated that a male subject had been running vehicles off the roadway, traveling in the wrong direction. The male subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was placed on a 12-hour hold. 

A resident on State Route K reported that his ex-girlfriend had stolen items from his home. A neighbor witnessed the suspect carrying items out of the house. A probable cause statement was sent to the Howell County Prosecutor. 

A report was received of a male subject who was throwing things and acting berserk on Private Road 6922. The man had left the location on foot, but was located on County Road 6920, where he was taken into custody and taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment. 

February 17

A death investigation was conducted on State Route 76 in Willow Springs. A male subject had gone into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. No foul play is suspected. 

February 18

Property was reported missing from the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. The item was entered into MULES, and the investigation continues. 

An investigator with the Children’s Division requested assistance with a hotline report of possible physical and sexual abuse of a child. The investigation is ongoing. 

A deer struck the patrol car of Deputy Dylan Webb, causing damage to the driver’s side rear view mirror. 

A deceased male was reported at a residence on County Road 7760.  No foul play is suspected. 

A male subject reported that his wife’s driver’s license was lost or stolen at the Senior Center in West Plains. 

February 19

A violation of a court order of protection for an adult was reported on County Road 6970. The incident was forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor for review. 

Property damage was reported to a residence on County Road 6420. A female subject was taken into custody for active warrants and charges stemming from the damage. 

February 21

A white 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from a location in Pomona. The vehicle has a tan or yellow hood and tinted windows. No suspects have been identified. 

Two juveniles were reported missing from a residence on State Route T. Both juveniles were quickly found and were returned to the residence.
