Incidents
April 5
A West Plains man reported that his teenage daughter was missing. The incident remains under investigation.
A male subject was arrested during a traffic stop on 2nd Street in West Plains for driving while revoked.
A runaway juvenile was reported at a residence on Private Road 6190 in Dora. The investigation continues.
The driver of a motorcycle fled from Deputy Matt Roberts after he attempted a traffic stop on Bill Virdon Boulevard in West Plains. The suspect was taken into custody after a short pursuit.
Two suspects were taken into custody in connection with a shooting investigation being conducted by West Plains Police at the Junction 14 truck stop.
April 6
Deputy Seth Smith responded to the Dollar General in Pomona for a report of a sexual offense.
A driver who attempted to elude deputies was stopped by a spike strip near Summersville. The driver was seen throwing items from his vehicle while fleeing from police. The suspect was located by a K9 officer after running into a wooded area once his vehicle had been disabled. A firearm and paraphernalia which field tested positive for methamphetamine were located in the vehicle. The suspect also had active arrest warrants from Shannon County.
April 7
A catalytic converter was reported stolen at First Assembly of God in Pomona. The incident is under investigation.
April 8
A Children’s Division investigator requested assistance in the investigation of possible child abuse. Contact was made with the suspect, and an interview was conducted. A follow up will be conducted by the Children’s Division.
A trespassing suspect was cited for driving while suspended. The suspect was trespassed from property on County Road 7110 after a call from a resident.
A suspicious subject was reported at Conley’s in Pomona. The individual Willow Springs arrested on outstanding warrants.
April 9
A burglary was reported at Silver Springs Storage on County Road 1280. The case remains under investigation.
April 11
A domestic disturbance was reported on Cedar Street in West Plains. No criminal charges were filed.
April 12
An assault suspect was taken into custody at a residence on County Road 8680. A woman reported that the suspect had beaten her husband with a stick and broken a flowerpot over her husband’s head. The suspect was later charged with first degree assault involving a special victim.
A possible domestic assault was reported at a residence on County Road 7640 in West Plains. The altercation was determined to be verbal, and the involved parties were separated.
A man and woman were assaulted by a male assailant known to them at a home on County Road 8730. The attacker reportedly used a claw hammer in the attack. The victims did not wish to pursue charges against the suspect. Due to the violent nature of the attack, charges will be sought on behalf of the State of Missouri.
A driver was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63.
