Incidents 
December 7
Seventy-two grams of suspected synthetic cannabinoid, along with more than $1300 in cash, were seized during a traffic stop near Dollar General in South Fork. Charges were filed against the driver for delivery of a controlled substance. 
A call was received regarding a violation of a court order of protection for a child. A report was taken. 
A driver was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 160 in South Fork for driving while suspended. 
December 8
A firearm and a coin collection were reported stolen from a residence on County Road 2960. The investigation continues. 
A burglary was reported on State Route 14 in West Plains. Extra patrol was conducted in the area. The case remains open. 
December 9
A juvenile was spoken with at West Plains High School regarding a sexual assault. The incident is under investigation. 
A firearm was reported stolen from a residence on County Road 5530 in Willow Springs. The investigation is ongoing. 
A boat and trailer were reported stolen near County Road 6750. A witness to the incident had seen a white pickup drive off with the boat. The suspect was located and taken into custody. The victim later declined to pursue charges, and the suspect was released. 
A male subject was arrested during a traffic stop on Preacher Roe Boulevard in West Plains for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked/suspended, and careless and imprudent driving. 
December 10
Alleged child abuse was reported, involving a one-year-old child who was said to have a number of bruises. A call was made to the Child Abuse Hotline. Contact with the Children’s Division will follow. 
A domestic assault was reported at a home on County Road 8030 in West Plains. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. 
December 11
A traffic stop was conducted on U.S. Highway 63 on the north side of West Plains. The driver was charged with driving while revoked/suspended and other traffic charges. 
December 12
A burglary was reported at a residence on County Road 5150. Property damage was reported, along with several items being stolen. No charges have been filed at this time. 
An incident of alleged child abuse was reported. The incident was referred to another agency, as it had occurred outside of the jurisdiction. 
An inmate at the Howell County Jail damaged a mattress in a cell. Charges of property damage were sent to the prosecutor’s office. 
A man was reported deceased at a residence on State Route 17. No foul play was suspected. 
A report of trespassing and stealing was received from a resident on County Road 1240. Suspected methamphetamine and another substance in pill form were located inside the suspect vehicle. Charges have been filed against two suspects that were identified in connection with the incident. 
December 13
Two summonses were issued to a driver during a traffic stop on Thornburgh in West Plains. The driver had no license or insurance. 
A theft was reported at a residence on State Route KK in Pottersville. 
A domestic disturbance between a mother and son was reported on County Road 6370. The two agreed to separate for the night. 
December 14
A well-being check was conducted for an elderly woman, after she had missed a doctor appointment and had displayed signs of abuse. A male subject was taken into custody for elder abuse and third-degree domestic assault. 
An attorney was asked to leave the Howell County Jail after he attempted to pass a vaping device to an inmate that was his client. The attorney was advised that the device was not allowed in the facility.
