Incidents 
January 12
One person was arrested on an active warrant at a residence on State Route 14 in West Plains. 
A male subject came to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office to report a dog bite. 
A driver was issued a citation for having an inoperable headlight. 
January 13
After a traffic stop for improper lane usage on U.S. Highway 63 near County Road 1540 in West Plains, a driver was arrested on several warrants. 
A male subject was reported deceased at his home on County Road 1990 in Willow Springs. The man is believed to have died of natural causes. 
A female subject was issued a citation for failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63. 
A traffic stop was conducted on Marianna Drive in West Plains, after a driver was observed driving on the wrong side of the road. The male subject was arrested for aggravated DWI and other charges. 
January 14
After a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 160, a male subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other traffic charges. 
January 15
An assault was reported at Dollar General near South Fork. The case remains under investigation. 
Assistance was given to a stranded motorist on U.S. Highway 63 near Pomona. One male subject at the scene was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. 
January 16
A burglary was reported on County Road 4000 in West Plains. The incident is under investigation. 
A resident on State Route K in West Plains reported forgery. The matter remains under investigation. A suspect has been identified. 
A domestic assault was reported on Illinois Avenue in Brandsville. An arrest was made, and formal charges are pending. 
A report of forgery was received from a resident on County Road 6540. A suspect has been identified, and the investigation continues. 
January 17
An assault was reported on County Road 6540 in West Plains. An arrest was made, and formal charges are pending. 
January 18
A domestic assault was reported at a residence on State Route K. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. 
A domestic assault was reported on County Road 6810 in West Plains. There were no visible injuries, and neither involved party wished to pursue charges. 
A pursuit began after an attempted traffic stop on County Road 6970 in West Plains. The suspect vehicle avoided spike strips and fled into a heavily wooded area near County Road 349 in Ozark County. The suspect vehicle was disabled after a minor traffic, in which neither the driver nor passenger were injured. The driver was arrested on active felony warrants. Drug paraphernalia was also found inside the vehicle. Additional felony charges of resisting arrest are being pursued.
