Incidents
September 14
A domestic assault was reported at a residence on County Road 4450 in Pomona. A suspect was identified, and charges were forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor for review. 
A woman reported that her son was assaulted while on the grounds of Glenwood Elementary School in West Plains. 
A West Plains woman reported that she had been scammed out of thousands of dollars. The case remains open. 
A resident on State Route 142 reported that her mailbox had been damaged. The case remains under investigation. 
September 15
A resident on County Road 7430 reported a burglary had occurred at the residence. A report was taken. 
A burglary was reported at a residence on County Road 9230. The investigation continues. 
September 16
A woman was reported walking along U.S. Highway 160 in West Plains and appeared to be distressed. Contact was made with the woman, and she was transported to Ozarks Healthcare. 
A female victim reported that she was assaulted by a family member on County Road 8690 in West Plains. The suspect was arrested with charges pending. 
September 17
A theft was reported at Alligator Jack’s on U.S. Highway 160 in West Plains. 
An arrest warrant was served at a residence on County Road 6670 in Moody. A bag of synthetic cannabinoid was also seized. 
A resident on County Road 1860 reported that several checks were taken from his residence and were cashed without his knowledge. An investigation was started. 
A vehicle was seen during regular patrol near Lambert Lane in West Plains that had license plates belong to another vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was also known to be involved with illegal narcotics. As a result of a subsequent investigation, three people were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and outstanding warrants. 
A traffic stop was attempted on a motorcycle on Gibson in West Plains. The rider fled from the scene, and the motorcycle was later found abandoned on County Road 4630 in Pomona. The inspect was identified, and citations were issued. 
September 18
A traffic stop was initiated on County Road 7370 in Caulfield. The driver fled from the scene, but later wrecked on County Road 7630. No one in the vehicle was injured, and the suspect was taken into custody. 
A female subject reported a theft at a residence on County Road 8530 in West Plains. 
A shoplifting suspect was issued a citation after being observed by an employee at Dollar General on U.S. Highway 160 in Caulfield. 
September 19
A burglary was reported at a residence on State Route K in Pottersville. Several items were taken from the location. The investigation is being conducted. 
A domestic disturbance was reported on County Road 3400 in Mountain View. No criminal charges were issued. 
A vehicle was stopped on County Road 2070 for expired tags. The driver was arrested for failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while suspended and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 
After responding to a report of property damage on County Road 3210, Deputy Benaiah Bishop discovered that the victim had been assaulted. Two suspects in the incident were identified, and charges were requested against both suspects for assault and property damage. 
September 20 
A burglary was reported at on County Road 9640. A report was taken. 
An incident of child abuse was reported by Ozarks Christian Academy in West Plains. An investigation was opened by the Missouri Children’s Division. 
Found property was turned in at the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. The property was placed into evidence for safekeeping. 
A vehicle theft was reported on County Road 4700. The female victim reported that the suspect was a man she had been allowing to stay at her home.
