August 2
Officer Dylan Cook issued a warning to subjects in the park after hours.
Asst. Chief Stetson Schwien responded to West Plains Bank parking lot for a report of disturbance. He spoke to all parties and a witness and found the suspect fled the area. He will forward the information to Shannon County Sheriff’s Office for follow up.
Asst. Chief Schwien received a report of an assault that took place in Reynolds County and forwarded it to the Sheriff’s Department there.
Asst. Chief Schwien arrested one subject on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Dylan Vice received a report of domestic assault. The report will be forwarded to Howell County Sheriff’s Office as the incident occurred outside the city.
Officer Vice responded to the old Town and Country building for a report of a possible theft. He found an employee dropping off items.
Officers spoke to one individual requesting assistance and issued two traffic warnings.
August 3
Officer Cook responded to a report of a disturbance. Investigation found a verbal argument took place. He advised both parties of the 12-hour rule.
Lt. Trenton Roberts spoke to parties having a verbal argument in the parking lot of the police department. Both parties were separated.
Officers spoke to four individuals requesting information or assistance and issued three traffic warnings.
August 4
Officer Alexis Johnson responded to a report of an assault. Investigation found two individuals arguing over a parking spot. They agreed to leave the area.
Officer Johnson conducted a security check on a vehicle parked at the golf course.
Officer Johnson spoke to an individual reporting the laundry locked with their items still inside. The attempt to reach the keyholder failed.
Officer Cook received a report of juveniles possibly under the influence of alcohol.
Lt. Roberts received a report of an assault that took place outside the city and will forward the report to Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
Officer Vice responded to a report of a domestic assault. He arrested one and transported them to Howell County Jail.
Officers spoke to seven individuals requesting information or assistance.
August 5
Off. First Class Kylee McGee responded to the Community Outreach Center for a report of a theft. Officers found an individual blocked the suspect in with their vehicle. After informing the individual not to attempt to restrain individuals, investigation found the suspect picking up items given to them. No theft took place.
Officer spoke to two individuals requesting information or assistance and issued five traffic warnings.
August 6
Off. First Class McGee took a report of a nuisance dog damaging a neighbor’s property.
Capt. Kaleb Berkshire conducted training with the K-9s.
Officers spoke to four individuals requesting information or assistance and issued one traffic warning.
August 7
Off. First Class McGee issued two nuisance ordinance violations.
Off. First Class McGee received a report of a domestic assault that occurred previously.
August 8
Cpt. Berkshire arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
Cpt. Berkshire spoke with a parent reporting a juvenile attempted to break into their residence. They also reported property damage to the residence.
Officer Johnson conducted a traffic stop and found the driver did not have insurance. Prior to having the vehicle towed, inventory discovered a handgun. Both subjects in the vehicle were on probation and officers arrested them.
Off. First Class McGee investigated a report of a possible house fire. Officers found the owner burning debris.
Off. First Class McGee conducted a wellbeing check on an individual walking.
Off. First Class McGee responded to a report of peace disturbance. Witnesses reported the individual yelling and throwing things. When Off. McGee found the individual, he assaulted her by throwing a soda on her. A report will be filled with the prosecuting attorney.
Off. First Class McGee issued a nuisance ordinance warning.
