Calls for Service

February 10

Officer Allen Reef assisted a motorist after driving their vehicle through a large pothole at Arnold’s BBQ. The vehicle suffered substantial damage. The location of the pothole is on private property and Officer Reef advised the driver to contact the owner. 

Officer Reef took a report from Signal of the theft of a burrito. When asked to pay, the customer fled the scene and could not be located.

Officer Combs took a report of dog that barks overnight. He informed the reporting party that the city does not have an ordinance for barking dogs and to contact city hall.

Officer Combs spoke with an individual wishing to file a stolen debit card report. He took the individual to Walmart to view video surveillance. Investigation found the individual used the card themselves.

A business requested extra patrol for a period of time while they had a new security system installed.

Officer Timothy Gordon responded to Signal for an individual needing assistance. He found a subject asking for a courtesy ride to Springfield. Officer Gordon explained he could not provide that assistance.

February 11

Corporal Trenton Roberts assisted an individual with filing a custody agreement violation.

Corporal Roberts took a call from an individual stating an unknown person had recorded them and posted it on Facebook. 

Corporal Roberts assisted an individual involved in a hit-and-run accident that occurred earlier in the day. 

Officer Kylie McGee responded to East Seventh Street for a report of mailbox tampering. Investigation found an individual complaining that the neighbor’s children would look into the mailbox. The individual reporting nothing missing from the mailbox. Officer McGee spoke to the mother of the children.

Officer McGee investigated a report of vehicles racing on West US 60. She spoke to one individual and advised them citations would be issued if she observed any racing.

February 12

Officer McGee removed obstacle from the roadway of Jackson and E James Streets. 

February 13

Corporal Roberts responded to Ash Street for a wellbeing check. He advised residents there to contact family.

February 14

Chief James Perkins responded to Mercy Hospital for an investigation. He spoke with Adult Protective Services about the matter.

Chief Perkins began an investigation into a sexual assault complaint. 

February 15

Officer Reef assisted an intoxicated subject.

An individual wanted to speak with an officer about what his wife told him. Officer Reef took the call.

Officer Reef assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.

February 16

Chief Perkins responded to a call of a subject in a vehicle threatening others. Assistant Chief Stetson Schwien assisted with a vehicle search.

Officer Reef assisted the driver of a truck with parking instructions.
