Officer Kylie McGee responded to a call of suspicious activity. She spoke with a group of individuals who advised they were with US Cellular installing 5G internet.

Officer McGee received a call of a panic/burglar alarm at US Cellular. She spoke to an employee who had not been entered into the system yet. Officer McGee confirmed the report with the manager.

Officer Dawnesha Scott received a request for a wellbeing check on an individual’s pets. The individual had a medical emergency the day before. Officer Scott found the pets to be with a friend.

Cadet Johnson issued several nuisance violation warnings.

April 29

Officer McGee received a request for a wellbeing check of a family on Douglas St. She did not locate anyone at the residence, and neighbors relayed they had not noticed anyone for several days.

April 30

Corp. Trenton Roberts responded to N. Oak St. for a possible deceased person. He found the individual deceased from apparent natural causes.

Corp. Roberts received a request for a wellbeing check. He found the individual’s residence secured, and no one appeared to be home.

Officer McGee responded to Dollar General for shoplifters taking DVDs and putting them in their pants. She arrived at the store and spoke with the manager who identified the individuals. She found the individuals who had the merchandise in hand and getting ready to pay for them.

May 1

Officer McGee found a dog getting into the trash on E. First St. She transported the dog to the pound due to not having an owner.

Officer McGee took a report of a possible stolen vehicle.

May 2

Officer McGee responded to US Hwy 60 for a suspicious vehicle near Apple Market following a woman from the store. She made contact with the individuals who were lost and trying to get to a nearby town.

Officer McGee conducted a security check of a vehicle parked at the golf course. The owner could not be reached.

Officer Matthew Combs picked up some trash that was causing a hazard on the highway.

Officer Combs received a call about a vehicle that had been sitting at the car wash for hours. He spoke with the driver who stated he had been kicked out of his house and the person who runs the car wash allowed him to sleep there.

Cadet Johnson issued warnings for nuisance violations.

Officer Allen Reef assisted a couple with a harassment report.

Officer Reef received a request for a wellbeing check of an individual who had been ill. He spoke to the individual, and they denied medical assistance.

May 4

Asst. Chief Stetson Schwien received a call of a possible stolen vehicle. He spoke to the reporting party, who stated that a caretaker had reported the vehicle stolen. The brother of the reporting party opened the garage to show that the vehicle safely inside.
