June 2

A caller requested extra patrol due to hearing noises in the woods.

Cpl. Trenton Roberts responded to a disabled vehicle in the roadway near Mercy Hospital. 

June 3

Cpl. Roberts assisted an individual with a harassment claim.

Officer Kylie McGee took report of a gas drive-off from Signal. 

June 4

Officer Timothy Gordon received a call reporting juveniles playing basketball in the park after it was closed. A Howell County Deputy overheard the call and responded to the scene. He advised Officer Gordon he already told the subjects about the park hours.  

Officer Gordon responded to a report of a power outage and smoking utility pole. He found nothing unusual in the area.

Officer Gordon responded to a report of a subject having domestic issues. He calmed the individual and advised some available options.

Officer Gordon responded to a business for an alarm at the rear overhead door. He discovered an AC repairman working on the AC unit. They had tried setting the alarm before closing the door, which had triggered the alarm.

Officer Gordon received a report of water running at the football field bathrooms. He contacted the School Resource Officer and relayed the information. 

Officer Gordon received a report of fireworks set off in the city. He could not locate anything. Another agency later found an individual with a valid permit for fireworks.

Officer Gordon responded to a request for a wellbeing on a juvenile who lived on Belmont St. He provided the individual with information on how to file a complaint and completed the wellbeing check.

Cpl. Roberts responded to Jackson Street for a report of an overdose. EMS transported the individual.

Cpl. Roberts responded to Angelica Street for a fight between a juvenile and grandparent. EMS transported the juvenile.

Officer Allen Reef responded to a residential alarm. He found the alarm off and the owners to be at home.

Officer Reef conducted a security check on a vehicle sitting roadside. He found the driver eating and not in need of assistance.

June 5

Officer Reef responded to a report of a robbery. 

June 6

Asst Chief Stetson Schwien took a report of stealing. 

Asst. Chief Schwien took a report of a non-injury vehicle accident involving a vehicle leaving the scene.

Officer McGee responded to the baseball field for a suspicious person making the parents uncomfortable during a game. Off. McGee spoke to an individual and advised them to leave the parents alone.

June 7

Officer McGee received a report of a person parking in Mercy parking lot refusing to leave. The individual agreed to leave.

Officer Travis Wilbanks conducted a security check of an individual sitting in a parked car for hours. The driver identified as a process server doing paperwork. 

Officer Reef received a report of an individual striking someone. 

June 8

Officer Reef responded to check on an individual sleeping in his vehicle. When he made contact, the individual took off driving. He could not locate the individual again.

Officer Reef took a report of a suspected burglary. The resident’s owner suspected a neighbor juvenile entered the residence, played a game, and consumed candy.

Officer McGee took a report of a stolen credit card used at Signal.

Officer McGee assisted EMS with a medical call.

June 9

While on routine patrol, Officer McGee noticed a door open and lights on at the bathrooms at the baseball field. 

June 10

Cpl. Roberts responded to Veteran’s Park for damage to the concession stand door. Investigation found an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry. He relayed the information to the appropriate city employee.

Cpl. Roberts took a report of a custody exchange issue.

While on routine patrol in the area of Bay Street when Officer McGee noticed a door open at the locker rooms at the baseball field with keys still in the door. She took the keys and locked and secured the building.

June 11

Officer McGee had an individual flag her down. The individual stated they felt unsafe in their living situation. Off. McGee assisted the individual into a safe environment. 

Officer McGee responded to David Drive for a report of an unwanted individual. After speaking to them, the individual agreed to leave.

Cpl. Roberts took a report of a custody exchange dispute.

Cpl. Roberts responded to a domestic situation. Investigation found it to be verbal only. 

June 12

Cpl. Roberts responded to Mercy Hospital for a juvenile patient who attacked an employee. He calmed the juvenile and arranged EMS transported as needed.

Cpl. Roberts received a call from Dollar General of a suspicious person living in the tree line that would come to the building at night. He could not locate anyone.

Cpl. Roberts assisted with a wellbeing check of an individual on First Street. Officers found the individual safe but unable to make a call to family to let them know.

June 13

Officer McGee responded to Anchor for a suspicious vehicle. She advised the driver to move along due to disrupting the business. 

Officer Wilbanks received a report of a toddler walking along Michael Stihl Road. He could not locate any child on the road.

Officer Wilbanks responded to Anchor for a report of a gas drive-off.

Officer Wilbanks received a report of a stolen vehicle on East Third Street. He confirmed the vehicle to be stolen and assisted in returning it to the owner. 

June 14

Officer Combs conducted a safety check on a semi-truck sitting roadside with flashers on. He found the driver fine and checking his route.

Chief James Perkins responded to the area of Doris Street for a possible water line break. He contacted the City Water Department.

June 15

Asst. Chief Schwien responded to Valley View Apartments for an individual threatening another with a shovel. The caller stated the other individual stole rose bushes and then threatened to hit them with a shovel. He issued the suspect citations for stealing and for assault.

Asst. Chief Schwien received a report of an individual parked at Walmart huffing air duster. He arrested the individual and transported them to Howell County Jail.

Officer McGee assisted an individual sitting alongside the road, crying and upset. The individual relayed they were intoxicated and had a dispute with another and attempted to return home. Officer McGee took the individual to their residence and left them in the care of a parent.
