Incidents
August 29
A domestic disturbance was reported on West Third Street. One subject was taken into custody on an active warrant. 
A male subject was taken into custody in the area of Monks Street on an active arrest warrant.
A child abuse or neglect case was reported on the 500 block of Texas Avenue. It was believed that a child in the home was suicidal due to mental neglect by the parents. The investigation continues.
A woman reported that her license plate was stolen while she was shopping at a business in the 1300 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard. 
A man reported that his vehicle was damaged while he was parked outside of Southern Missouri Community Healthcare.
A male subject was reportedly trying to harm himself and others on Christie Drive. The man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation.
A report was received that a male subject was refusing to leave the property at Ozarks Healthcare. Property damage was also reported to have been caused by the man. The subject was arrested, and charges were forwarded to the county prosecutor.
A stolen cell phone was reported on the 1200 block of Porter Wagoner Boulevard. The matter remains under investigation.
A physical domestic was reported at Walmart. A suspect was taken into custody with charges pending.
Contact was made with a male subject in the Southern Hills Shopping Center. Citations were issued after the subject threw a cigarette on the ground and threw food at a patrol vehicle.
A female subject was trespassed from West Plains Motel. A probable cause statement was sent to the municipal prosecutor.
Officers responded to Ozarks Healthcare for a report of a domestic assault that had occurred previously. A report was taken, and charges are being sought against a suspect.
August 30
A domestic assault was reported on Johnson Street. A female suspect was taken into custody.
A peace disturbance involving barking dogs was reported on Country Club Drive. A complaint ticket was issued.
A domestic disturbance was reported on Lambert Lane. A probable cause statement was forwarded to the county prosecutor.
A suicidal subject was reported on Lambert Lane.
A disturbance was reported on Cass Avenue. A male subject was taken into custody on an active warrant.
August 31
Property damage and vandalism was reported at Buck Park. The matter is under investigation.
The West Plains Police Department was selected to host an event for the Missouri Attorney General’s office. The event is in connection with the SAFE Kit Initiative.
A tractor trailer was reported stuck on the railroad tracks on Sunset Terrace. The tractor trailer was moved from the tracks.
A driver was cited for driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Gibson.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle on Bratton Avenue. The matter is under investigation.
An assault involving a juvenile was reported on Columbus Street. A hotline call was placed to the Missouri Children’s Division, and a report was completed.
September 1
A driver was cited for having an expired license during a traffic stop on Preacher Roe Boulevard. 
A domestic disturbance was reported on the 200 block of Leyda. The matter remains under investigation.
A woman reported that she was assaulted by a woman known to her at her apartment on Walnut. The investigation continues.
A report of fraud was received from a business on Davis Drive. A report was taken.
A male subject was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant.
A found wallet was turned in at the police department. The owner of the wallet was contacted.
A theft was reported at Walmart. The suspect was trespassed from the property, and a probable cause statement was sent to the municipal prosecutor.
Found property was reported at Walmart. A report was taken.
A sexual offense was reported on the 800 block of Lanton Road. The matter is under investigation.
September 2
Officers responded to the 200 block of West Second Street for a report of harassment.
The Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI- Springfield, and the Newton County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant in Neosho, concerning the sexual exploitation of children. Charges are pending upon the completion of digital forensics.
A business on the 1500 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard reported a theft by a former employee. The investigation continues.
A shoplifter was reported at Walmart. The suspect was issued a citation for stealing.
During an investigation, a male juvenile subject made suicidal statements and assaulted an officer. The juvenile was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation. Charges were sent to the juvenile office.
September 3
A subject came to the police department to report a missing person. Information was obtained, and the individual was entered as a missing person.
A female subject reported that she accidentally left cash inside of a business, and that when she returned, the money was gone. The matter is under investigation.
A burglary was reported on the 1800 block of Palmer. The investigation continues.
A male subject and his wife were issued trespass warnings on the 1300 block of Bill Virdon after yelling and threatening physical harm.
September 4
A driver was cited for driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Boulevard. 
A domestic disturbance was reported on Hubert Redburn Boulevard. The altercation was found to be verbal only.
During a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Boulevard, a driver was issued a citation for driving while suspended. 
An individual reported a lost or stolen debit card. The matter is under investigation.
Found property was reported on the 500 block of Preacher Roe Boulevard. The item was collected and placed in safekeeping.
