Incidents 
January 24
A driver was issued a citation during a traffic stop on Joe Jones Boulevard. The driver was found to be driving while suspended. 
A cell phone was found on Padgett Drive. The phone was held for safekeeping at the police department. 
January 25
A deceased male was reported at a residence on the 1100 block of Webster. The male died from natural causes, and no foul play is suspected. 
Officers responded to a residence on Olden for a report of a sexual offense that had occurred in another city. No charges have been filed. The incident is under investigation. 
An officer responded to a report of an inoperable vehicle in the roadway at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Preacher Roe Boulevard. An occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody on an active warrant. 
A disturbance was reported at a residence on Burke. A report was taken. 
A runaway juvenile was reported at a residence on Carte Square. The investigation is ongoing. 
January 26
A domestic disturbance was reported on the 1600 block of 5th Street. The involved parties were separated upon arrival of law enforcement. A report was completed. 
A complaint was received from the West Plains Public Library for property damage. A complaint was also received for the detainment of library materials. Probable cause statements were forwarded to the municipal court for formal charges. 
A report was received of possible threats being made to students at West Plains High School. The report was determined to be unfounded. 
January 27
Drug paraphernalia was discovered in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Boulevard. 
A suicidal male subject was reported on the 100 block of Dana Street. The male was taken to the hospital by EMS. 
January 28
A male came to the police department to make a report of fraud. The case is under investigation. 
A female subject came to the police department to report lost property. A report was taken. 
Multiple charges stemmed from a shoplifting incident at Ramey Supermarket. The manger reported that a male and female subject took a pack of donuts and a container of milk. Additionally, violent statements were made toward the manager of the store. Charges are being sought for making terroristic threats, harassment and stealing. 
January 29
A nurse was reportedly assaulted by a patient at the Ozarks Healthcare Emergency Room. Formal charges are being sought. 
A driver was seriously injured after driving off the dead end of 4th Street and into Howell Creek. The investigation continues. 
A domestic disturbance was reported at a residence on Edwards. A male subject was taken from the scene to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation. A female subject at the scene refused service. 
Officers responded to Breckenridge Apartments for a domestic disturbance. A female subject was arrested at the scene on active warrants from West Plains and Cabool. 
Property damage was reported at the West Plains Civic Center. No suspects have been identified. The investigation continues. 
A vehicle was reported stolen on the 700 block of Prospect. The matter remains under investigation. 
January 30
An elderly male subject was reported deceased on the 1200 block of Cynthia. No foul play was detected at the scene. The body was transported from the scene. 
A fuel theft was reported at Snappy Mart on Saint Louis Street. The suspect vehicle pumped nearly $60 worth of fuel before leaving the business. 
A verbal domestic was reported on Johnson Street. Officers learned that a male and female subject were in an argument. 
Contact was made with a male subject with active warrants on Anne Drive. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. 
An assault was reported on Johnson Street. No charges are being pursued in connection to the incident. A report was completed.
