Incidents
August 20
Contact was made with a male subject on 1st Street who had an active warrant. The male was taken into custody without incident. 
A traffic stop was conducted on South Hill. The driver was arrested for driving while revoked. 
A stranded vehicle was reported near County Road 6300 and State Route K. The vehicle was found to be a hazard since it was partially in the roadway. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 
A female subject reported that someone had used her information to make an online purchase. The case remains under investigation. 
A theft was reported at a business in the Parkway Shopping Center. A suspect was identified, and charges are being sought. 
Found property was turned in at the police department. The item was placed in evidence for safekeeping. 
A woman reported the fraudulent use of a credit or debit device. The incident is under investigation. 
A vehicle stop was initiated near Porter Wagoner and Broadway. The driver was cited for driving while suspended. 
August 21
A domestic disturbance was reported on the 2500 block of Paula Drive. A male suspect was arrested at the scene. Formal charges are pending. 
Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Kody Drive for an unresponsive male subject. The man was taken from the scene by paramedics. Emergency responders advised that the man died after being placed in the ambulance. 
A woman reported that she had lost her daughter’s social security card somewhere in the Southern Hills Shopping Center area. It is unknown if the card was lost in a store or in the parking lot. 
The driver of a vehicle in a traffic stop on Lincoln Avenue was arrested. The driver was found to have a revoked license. Charges were forwarded to the municipal court. 
An assault was reported on the 300 block of East Olden Street. A male subject reported that his ex-girlfriend had assaulted him. Formal charges are pending. 
A vehicle was stopped for not displaying license plates on Jackson. The driver was cited for driving while suspended. 
A burglary was reported at a residence on the 800 block of Missouri. The victim reported that when she returned home, the door was open and multiple items had been stolen. The investigation continues. 
A local church reported receiving threatening voicemails. The female reporting party stated that the calls had come from a random citizen, who was making rude statements about the church. Contact was made with the suspect, and he was advised to cease communication with the church. 
A resident on Rader Drive reported that they believed there were squatters in her deceased neighbor’s residence. No one was found in the residence. 
Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located in a vehicle during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 63. Charges are being sought, pending lab results on the suspected methamphetamine. 
August 22
A missing juvenile was reported on the 1000 block of 6th Street. The juvenile was located a short time later and returned home. 
A theft was reported at a business on the 700 block of Kentucky. The manager of the business stated that a male in a red shirt and black shorts came into the business and took items without paying for them. Formal charges are pending. 
A woman reported that her daughter used her identity to get car insurance. A report was completed, and charges are pending. 
A resident was contacted regarding possible identity theft. Suspects have been identified in connection to the case. The investigation continues. 
A child custody incident was reported by a woman who came to the police department. The woman stated that her ex-husband refused to return her children to her and was not answering messages. A report was filed. 
A male subject reported being assaulted by a man wielding a tire iron. An investigation was conducted, and a probable cause statement was forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor seeking charges. 
A fight in progress was reported on Westway. A suspect was identified, and charges are being sought. 
A domestic violence incident was reported on the 1200 block of Worcester. It was discovered that the man was intoxicated and was having a verbal altercation with his wife. Nothing physical had occurred.
