Calls for Service
February 13
Officer Barrett responded to Missouri Ave for a report of property damage. The reporting party stated that while they were sleeping, someone broke windows in an attempt to gain entry to the residence. This report is still under investigation.
February 14
Officer Ivie Powell responded to Catalina Drive to assist EMS with a medical call.
Animal Control Officer Brad Jones responded to Bartley Street for a complaint of dogs running at large. He issued a citation to the animal owner.
Officer Lovelace received a call from C Star of property damage. A juvenile referral will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Connor Burnes responded to Olden Street for a juvenile problem. He found a juvenile in possession of a nicotine vaping product. This case will be forwarded to the Juvenile Court. He responded back to the location later and found a juvenile in possession of marijuana. This case is still open.
Animal Control Officer Jones responded to McFarland Lane for a report of dogs running at large. He contained the animals into the pound and located the owners. He issued citations to the owners.
Officer Keepes responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a report of a vehicle accident. Investigation found one vehicle fled the scene. Charges will be sought.
Sergeant Colter Reid responded to Casey’s Store on Saint Louis Street for a report of stealing.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force received information concerning a subject that self-reported instances of engaging in the sexual exploitation of children. They interviewed the subject regarding the report, and no observation of evidence supported further investigation. 
February 15
Officer Powell took a report from West Plains Bank and Trust regarding a theft. A report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office. 
Officer Burnes responded to Olden Street for a report of a juvenile attempting to run away. Officers detained the juvenile who later assaulted officers along with their mother. A report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
Officers responded to Holiday Lane for a report of stolen library materials. Charges will be sought.
While on routine patrol, Officer Brixey attempted a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner Blvd. The vehicle failed to yield and WPPD turned over the pursuit to Howell County Sheriff’s Office. 
Officer Chris Siegrist responded to West Maple for a report of an individual stating they were sexually harassed.  Investigation found the report false.
February 16
Officer Heuchelin responded to McFarland Lane for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile returned home on their own. A report will be forwarded to the Juvenile Circuit Division.
Officer Siegrist received a report of individuals attempting to enter a storage unit. The individuals were removed with one having an active arrest warrant. 
Officer Martin took a report of harassment. 
February 17
Officer Powell responded to Worley Drive in reference to property damage. Investigation found a vehicle drove through the grass into the parking lot damaging items in the vacuum portion of the center. The matter is under investigation.
Corporal Trent Kinder responded to Kissinger Street for a report of a disturbance. Investigation found an individual harassed and then assaulted another. EMS transported one individual.
Officer Stephens responded to Joe Jones Blvd for a report of assault. He found one person had assaulted another. A report will be forwarded to the West Plains City Prosecutor. 
February 18
Corporal Manning responded to Holiday Lane in reference to a hit and run accident. 
Officer Stephens took a report of theft.
February 19
Officer Siegrist responded to Seventh Street in reference to an assault. He took an individual into custody on a 24-hour hold.
Officer Martin responded to Division Drive for a report of three runaway juveniles. The juveniles stole a motor vehicle and were involved in a pursuit with Seymour Police Department. Charges are pending.
Officer Brixey responded to Court Square for a report of vandalism. He found three adults and one juvenile vandalizing a building. He issued citations to the adults and released the juvenile to a parent.
Officer Heuchelin assisted Howell County Sheriff’s Office at their jail by conducting an Intox DMT test for them.
