Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Seventh Street for a report of a stolen firearm.
Officer Caleb Kerley responded to Division Drive for a juvenile problem. They transported the juvenile to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Officer Kerley received a call of a juvenile receiving explicit photographs from another juvenile. This case will be referred to the West Plains Detective Division for further investigation.
Cpl. Micah McKemie spoke with an individual regarding possible blackmail and scamming.
May 12
Officer Daiman Meyer conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 63 and found the driver in possession of a controlled substance. The case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officer Shell responded near Thornburgh Ave. and Lincoln Ave. for a report of an approximately 1-or-2 year old child walking in the middle of the intersection with no adult present. He contacted an adult and made a report of the incident.
May 13
While conducting security checks of businesses, Cpl. Wesley Stuart located an open door. He found no signs of foul play and secured the business.
While investigating a motor vehicle collision on McFarland, Officer Ivie Powell learned one of the drivers had a suspended license and no insurance.
Officer Shell arrested an individual on Gleghorn St. for an outstanding warrant.
Officer Meyer conducted a traffic stop on Girdley St and arrested the driving for driving while intoxicated.
May 14
While conducting business security checks on Bill Verdon Ave, Cpl. Stuart found an unsecured door. He found no signs of foul play and secured the business.
Officer Dobbs responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of a dog bite. The dog will be taken to the animal control facility for quarantine, and no charges will be sought.
Officer Shell conducted a warrant service on Lynn Dr.
May 15
Officer Gill began an investigation of stealing at the Civic Center.
Officer Shell responded to Pine St. for a report of an unclothed individual walking down the street and yelling. They transported the individual to OZH and placed them on a 96-hour mental health evaluation.
May 16
Officer Franks responded to residence in reference to a domestic assault between a mother and son. After his investigation, he arrested the parent and placed them on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges. This case and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors' Office for review.
May 17
Officer Beavers investigated a vehicle collision on Missouri Avenue. He found the driver under the influence of intoxicants. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutors' office for review.
Cpl. Stuart responded to Ozarks Healthcare for a report of an assault from another location on Worcester Street. This case will be under investigation.
Officer Powell responded to the West Plains Jail for an inmate with suicidal ideations. They placed the individual on suicide watch.
Officer Barrett responded to a business located in Southern Hills Shopping Center for a report of shoplifting. His investigation identified and located a couple and charges are pending.
