July 13

Officer Jesse Martin took a report of suspicious circumstances in the department lobby.

Officer Jacob Beadell conducted a traffic stop on Broadway and arrested the driver for driving with no valid license. 

Officer Brent Keepes conducted a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner and arrested the driver for driving with no valid license.

July 14

Officer Tyler Gill took a report of a stolen wallet in the area of Gibson Avenue. Charges will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Keepes conducted a traffic Stop in the area of U.S. Highway 63 and arrested the driver on active out state warrants.

Officer Wartanby took a report of stolen items. This incident will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Beadell responded to Main Street for a report of a disturbance in progress. They arrested a suspect. This case will be referred to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Officer Keepes responded to Walmart Parking lot for a possible stolen vehicle. An investigation found a verbal domestic altercation occurred. 

July 15

Cpl. Ivie Powell responded to Mitchell Road for a 911 call for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, he found an adult male deceased from natural causes.

Officer Dobbs took a report of financial account fraud in the lobby of the West Plains Police Department. This will be forwarded to the Detective division for further investigation.

Officer Dobbs took a report of a stolen vehicle in the lobby of the department. He identified a suspect and a probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors seeking charges for stealing motor vehicle.

Officer Keepes conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 63. He arrested the driver for driving while his license is suspended.

Officer Wartanby took a report of a peace disturbance. This incident will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Keepes spoke with an individual regarding a domestic altercation that had occurred on 6th Street. No charges will be sought due to an uncooperative victim.

Cpl. Conner Burnes spoke with a subject about a scam. The subject stated they were called by a person claiming to be a federal agent who told them had a warrant and needed to go to a hub. The reporting party came to the police department to confirm this. While speaking with the reporting party, Cpl. Burnes found they did in fact have a full US extradition warrant. They assisted the subject with posting bond. It is believed the call is unrelated to the actual warrant.

July 16

Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Sesson Street for a report of stealing. An investigation identified the suspects. This case will be referred to the West Plains Police Department Detective Division.

Cpl. Powell spoke with the victim of a sexual assault.  The victim advised the assault happened the day before at her residence located within the city limits of West Plains by a male known to her. This matter remains under investigation.

Sgt. Joshua Wichowski took a report of a sexual assault in the lobby of the department. The matter remains active and under further investigation.

Members of the West Plains Police Department, Howell County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Operation Relentless Pursuit executed a search warrant on Davidson Street. 

Officer Wartanby responded to a report of juvenile problems. This Incident will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Wartanby spoke with an individual questioning whether a hospital could take custody of a child. 

July 17

Officer Meyer conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 63 and arrested the driver for driving without a valid license. 

Officer Dobbs responded to 3rd Street for a report of harassment. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors seeking charges.

Officer Wartanby responded to a report of an animal bite. This incident will remain open pending further investigation

July 18

Officer Dawson Beavers responded to Columbus Street regarding a reported overdose. His investigation discovered a juvenile became unconscious after drinking a large quantity of alcohol. They transported them to the hospital for medical treatment. This case remains inactive pending further information.

Officer Keepes responded to Hubert Redburn for a report of a dog left inside a vehicle for an extended period of time. After an investigation, they removed the animal from the vehicle and placed it inside with the owner. They took the owner of the animal into custody and later released them. 

Officer Brandon Vernon conducted a warrant arrest of two individuals from a residence on Joe Jones Blvd.

Officer Katie Sandgren assisted with the booking of a female inmate and during the process discovered drug paraphernalia. This incident will be referred to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review and consideration of formal charges.

Officer Wartanby responded to a verbal domestic dispute. After an investigation both parties separated. This incident will be closed due to neither party wishing to pursue charges.

July 19

Officer Tyler Gill responded to S. Harlin for a report of a disturbance in progress and after an investigation took an individual into custody. A report will be sent to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Beavers Washington Avenue for an assault. His investigation discovered subject assaulted another before fleeing the area on foot. The case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutors' Office for review.

Officer Joseph Tombley responded to the report of alleged harassment. Following an investigation, charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review and consideration.
