August 10

Officer Jacob Miller responded to Bluegrass for a dog bite.

Officer Miller responded to Hubert Redburn for a verbal domestic incident. No assault occurred.

Officer Miller responded to Rhonda Drive for a runaway juvenile. This case is open.

August 11

Cpl. Trent Kinder took a report regarding allegations of inappropriate pictures taken of a juvenile. The incident will be forwarded to the West Plains Detective Division for further investigation.

Officer Robert Shell responded to a single-vehicle crash located near Abe Taylor and Washington Plains. His investigation discovered the vehicle previously reported stolen. They later detained a juvenile and transported them to the West Plains Police Department for an interview. A Juvenile Officer took custody of the male juvenile and later transported them to their facility. After further investigation, officers arrested another male subject and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges which will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Brent Keepes took a report of possible terroristic threats. 

August 12

Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Preacher Roe Blvd for a suspicious subject call. While on scene investigating the initial call, officers observed an individual stealing items from the business. During the arrest, officers found the individual in possession of a controlled substance. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Cpl. Wesley Stuart received a bag containing a large amount of food items originally located outside a business on Gibson Ave. 

Cpl. Kinder responded to Crestwood for a domestic altercation involving a couple in a relationship. His investigation found only a verbal argument occurred. One party agreed to leave and stay at a different location. There will be no charges.

Animal Control Officer Brad Jones responded to Ozarks Healthcare in regard to a dog bite. He spoke to a juvenile who reported while they walked down a city street a dog came from a residence and bit them on the leg. The victim did have signs of injuries and obtained medical treatment. ACO Jones located the dog and placed it on a 10 day hold and issued the owner a summons to court.

Officer Brandon Vernon conducted a traffic stop on Porter Wagoner and during the investigation he learned the passenger had an active warrant out of Probation and Parole.

Officer Wartanby responded to a disturbance on Howell Ave. The case will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Wartanby investigated a family dispute on Lanton Drive. He found no crime committed. 

Officer Vernon responded to Galloway Park for a report of two individuals fighting. He found no evidence of an assault.

Officer Shell responded to the area of Terra St. for a runaway juvenile.

August 13

Officer Daiman Meyer conducted a traffic stop on Hazel Street. His investigation found the driver in possession of drug paraphernalia and an invalid driver's license. This case will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.

Officer Wartanby responded to a report of a protection order violation. This case will be investigated and will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Shell conducted a warrant service on W 1st St.

Officer Meyer received information regarding a mental health issue. They located and transported and individual to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental health evaluation.

Officer Joseph Tombley responded to the area of Missouri Avenue for the report of a domestic disturbance that later resulted in additional allegations of an attempted assault involving a motor vehicle. The investigation remains active as officers continue reviewing available evidence and surveillance footage before determining whether criminal charges are to be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office.

Cpl. Stuart received a report of a runaway juvenile in the area of US 63 and Ramseur Road. They located the juvenile approximately one hour later and returned them to parental custody.

August 14

Officer Wartanby responded to a report of domestic altercation. His investigation determined juveniles were involved and the incident will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

Officer Caleb Kerley responded to 1st Street in regard to a disturbance. His investigation discovered a verbal dispute occurred. Both parties separated.

Cpl. Conner Burnes received a request for an agency assist involving a sexual assault investigation. The case is still under investigation.

August 15

Officer Dawson Beavers responded to Porter Wagoner Boulevard regarding a reported assault. His investigation determined two subjects were involved in a physical altercation stemming from a road rage incident. The investigation identified the primary aggressor who later voluntarily turned himself in at the West Plains Police Department. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review. 

Officer Chris Barrett responded to Jackson Street for a report of a disturbance. He found a couple involved in a verbal altercation. They transported one individual to the hospital for a 96-hour mental evaluation.

Officer Kerley responded to 6th Street regarding a property damage report. His investigation found three juveniles pulled a tree out of the ground. The case is open for investigation.

August 16

Officer Keepes responded to McDonald’s regarding a report of harassment. They took a subject into custody for assault and later released them with a summons.

Officer Keepes responded to Lanton Road for a report of an injured animal that bit someone. They transported the animal to the West Plains Dog Pound.

Officer Katie Sandgren spoke to an individual reporting someone touched her daughter inappropriately at school. The case will be referred to the detectives of the West Plains Police Department for further investigation.

Officer Tombley responded to the area of South Howell Ave for the report of a domestic disturbance. His investigation determined a subject to be the primary physical aggressor; however, no charges will be pursued after the victim declined to cooperate with prosecution.

August 17

Officer Beavers responded to Rita regarding a subject making suicidal statements. His investigation determined the subject did not have suicidal intentions, but the statements were made out of anger during an argument.

Officer Beadell took a report of property damage to a vehicle. 

Officer Shell responded to N. Kentucky Ave. for a report of an assault. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.

Officer Keepes responded to the area of Burgoyne for an eight-year-old juvenile reportedly ran away from home. They located the juvenile and transported them to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

Officer Keepes responded to the area of Christopher for a verbal domestic situation. After an investigation, he found a verbal argument only and both parties separated.

Officer Shell responded to a report of a disturbance on Hubert Redburn. This case will be open pending further investigation.

August 18

Sgt. Stephens conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy. 63 near Broadway. As a result of the stop, he arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated and minor in possession. He later released the driver with citations after processing.

Officer Beavers responded to Broadway regarding an active business alarm. His investigation discovered a subject broke a window of the business and then fled the area. This case remains open pending identification of the suspect.

Officer Meyer conducted a pedestrian stop on Lincoln Avenue. His investigation learned the individual had an active arrest warrant.

Officer Siegrist responded to Wash Board Laundry in reference to stealing report. They recovered the property and placed the suspect under lawful arrest. A probable cause statement will be completed and referred to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officer Dobbs responded to Kiwanis Wayhaven Park located off Deatherage Avenue for a report of property damage. He found someone damaged the park’s playground equipment. This case will be open for further investigation.

Officer Shell spoke to an individual at West Plains Police Department for a report of stealing. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and Juvenile Division for review.

Officer Keepes responded to a residence on Davidson for a report of stealing. An investigation is being conducted and still ongoing.

August 19

Sgt. Wichowski conducted a warrant arrest on two subjects at a residence on Harlin Drive. 

Sgt. Wichowski received information from West Plains Police Department Dispatch that an individual had once again called the 911 Emergency Services line for a third separate time without any form of legitimate emergency in a period of two consecutive days. A probable cause statement will be completed and forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for misuse of the 911 emergency system.

Officer Vernon responded to a location inside the city limits of West Plains for a welfare check. His investigation learned an individual had an active warrant out of the City of Willow Springs.

Officer Wartanby arrested an individual with an active warrant out of Texas County.

August 20

Officer Dobbs responded to the West Plains Municipal Court for a report of an individual who needed to be taken into custody due to an active warrant.

While on patrol near Trish Knight, observed a vehicle which triggered a warrant alert on his License Plate Reader (LPR). He conducted a traffic stop and later arrested a subject for active warrants.

Officer Tombley responded to the area of Jackson St. regarding a juvenile experiencing a mental health crisis. EMS evaluated the juvenile and transported them to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Cpl. Stuart responded to a domestic disturbance on 5th Street. His investigation determined an assault had occurred, but no injuries were sustained. The victims did not wish to pursue charges.

August 21

Officer Tombley responded to the area of Jackson St. for a reported disturbance involving a juvenile and a family member. Following the investigation, he completed a juvenile referral completed and the incident will be forwarded to the appropriate juvenile authorities for review.

Officer Wartanby took a report of stalking. This case will remain open pending further investigation.

Officer Sandgren responded to Aid Ave for warrant service. She transported the individual to the West Plains Police Department Jail, where they posted bond. 

Officer Wartanby conducted a traffic stop on Porter Waggoner and arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated. 

Officer Beavers responded to Jackson for a peace disturbance incident. His investigation discovered an intoxicated juvenile yelling racial slurs at another. They arrested the juvenile and later released them to the custody of their guardian. This case will be referred to the Howell County Juvenile Office for review.

August 22

Officer Wartanby responded to a report of domestic altercation involving a juvenile. His investigation determined the report of domestic assault to be unfounded but observed the juvenile using a tobacco vape. He confiscated the vape and the incident will be forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

Officer Kerley responded to Rhonda Dr regarding a missing juvenile. They located the juvenile 

safe and sound.

Officer Keepes responded to a residence on Pierce Street regarding a 13-year-old juvenile who assaulted their brothers and ran away from home. They later located the juvenile and transported them to the hospital for a mental evaluation. Charges will be sought through the Howell County Juvenile Office.

August 23

Officer Siegrist responded to W. 2nd St in reference to a trespassing complaint. The reporting party advised her ex-boyfriend entered her residence without permission and refused to leave. They issued the individual a trespass warning and advised them not to return to the property.

Officer Barrett spoke to an individual reporting damage to their vehicle. His investigation found someone damaged the vehicle and removed something from it.

Officer Keepes responded to Walmart regarding a male putting his phone up a juvenile female’s skirt. He conducted an investigation and found evidence of the event. He arrested the individual placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. This case will be further investigated.

Officer Vernon responded to Renfrow regarding a verbal domestic dispute.

Officer Kerley responded to Division Dr in reference to two juveniles who had run away from the facility. He entered both juveniles into the national database as missing. A juvenile referral will be sent to the West Plains Juvenile Office.
