May 29

Officer Chris Siegrist responded to Lincoln Avenue in reference to a domestic assault. Charges are being sought on the incident.

Officer Joel Lovelace responded to Snappy Mart 9 for a report of shoplifting. He identified the subject, and charges will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office. 

Officer Stephens responded to W Main Street for a report of property damage. He determined that an unknown individual broke the back glass of the victim’s vehicle. This case is still under investigation. 

Officer Brent Keepes responded to Walnut Street regarding a physical domestic incident. He learned that two roommates had an altercation. No one wished to seek charges, and no injuries were noted. 

Officer Jerry Mingus responded to Utah Avenue for an assault in progress. Investigation found two individuals had a physical altercation. He placed one subject under arrest for a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. A report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's office seeking formal charges. 

Officer Mingus responded to First Street for a domestic situation. Investigation found two individuals involved in a physical altercation. He placed one individual on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. A report will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's office seeking formal charges. 

May 30

Officer Austin Deshazo responded to Kentucky Avenue for a report of stealing. He found property reported stolen from a business. Charges are being forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Courts. 

Officer Deshazo responded to W Broadway for a report of an assault. He confirmed an assault took place. This case will be referred to the West Plains Municipal Court. 

Officer Jacob Brixey responded to West Leyda Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. He arrested one individual and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. 

Officer Keepes received a report regarding a physical domestic in progress on Missouri Ave. Investigation found a verbal argument occurred between a couple in a relationship. No charges will be filed at this time.

May 31

Officer Ivie Powell responded to Lanton Road in reference to a burglary. He spoke with the reporting party who advised an unknown subject broke the side window, entered the building and afterwards left. This matter will remain under investigation. 

Officer Whitley Clark responded to Jackson Street for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation determined the primary aggressor in the assault. Officers arrested the subject and transported to the West Plains Jail. This case is closed, pending formal charges. 

Officer Deshazo took a report of a stolen and fraudulently used credit card.

June 1

Officer Heuchelin took a report from Porter Wagoner Blvd for a subject inside a storage container in the back of the building. They contacted a key holder and trespassed the individual from the building. 

The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force conducted a forensic extraction on a cellular device seized by U.S. Probation & Parole from a registered sex offender in West Plains. After completion of the process the device and forensic report were provided to the case agent. 

Officer Jacob Miller took a report of shoplifting from Dollar General. He identified a suspect and arrested them.

An altercation occurred between two subjects at the West Plains Civic Center. Officers with the West Plains Police Department were working security at the Aaron Lewis Concert and witnessed the altercation occur. Formal charges related to the incident are pending.

Officer Brixey responded to N. Howell Ave. to a report of a dog attacking another dog. He issued the owner of one of the dogs citations and released them on the scene. 

Cpl. Wesley Stuart responded to People's Park for a report of a physical altercation. Through the investigation numerous criminal violations were reported, all involving juveniles. This incident will be forwarded to the Howell County Juvenile Court. 

June 2

Officer Powell conducted a traffic stop on Broadway. During the course of the traffic stop, he learned the driver gave a false name and had an active felony arrest warrant out of Greene County. The driver attempted to leave the traffic stop, but officers took him into custody.  Investigation found the driver in possession of what is believed to be a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Officer Powell arrested and transported the subject to the Howell County Jail on the active arrest warrant. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 

Officer Deshazo responded to a business on Kentucky Avenue for a report of stealing. He contacted an employee/witness and manager who provided him with a statement and video footage of the incident. A report will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Court for review. 

June 3

The West Plains Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant located on State Route K. During the course of the search warrant, controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia were discovered. They arrested one individual and placed them on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Officer Lovelace responded to North Howell Avenue for a report of a possible overdose. When officers arrived on scene, they heard yelling for help inside the residence. Officers then entered the residence and contacted EMS for the subject. 

Officer Miller responded to Broadway Street for a report of stealing. Officers detained two juveniles in connection with the stealing. They located the stolen property and released the juveniles to their mothers. Charges have been forwarded to the juvenile office. 

June 4

Officers responded to a domestic in progress. Investigation found the disturbance to be an unruly juvenile. Officer Miller placed a call to the Child Service Hotline to document the incident. 

Officer Miller took a report on Lanton Rd of an assault. He determined two subjects assaulted each other. No charges will be pursued in this incident. 

Cpl. Stuart took a report of harassment.
