Incidents
October 4
Two suspicious males were reported on Lanton Road. Contact was made with the males, and one of them was taken into custody on an active warrant. 
A male subject was arrested at the probation and parole office on active warrants. 
Officers were dispatched to the area of McFarland Drive, near the bridge, for a report of a person trying to get out of a moving vehicle. 
A woman came to the police department to fill out a report for stealing. A report was taken. 
A bicycle rack was pulled out of its concrete anchor at People’s Park. The case is under investigation. 
A vehicle left the scene of an accident in the Walmart parking lot. A possible suspect was identified, and the case remains under investigation. 
Loose dogs were reported on Lanton Road. 
A verbal domestic was reported on Pearl Circle. Neither involved party wished to pursue charges. 
October 5
A theft was reported on Walnut. A suspect has not been identified. The case remains under investigation. 
A report of domestic assault was received at the police department. The investigation continues. 
A suspicious vehicle was reported at Mobile City on U.S. Highway 63. The vehicle was towed from the scene. 
A report of stealing was received on Lanton Road. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. 
A well-being check was conducted on 5th Street. A male subject with an active warrant was placed under arrest. 
A runaway juvenile was reported on Westmont. The juvenile could not be located, and a report was completed. 
October 6
An elderly woman was assaulted by a client at her job site on Howard Drive. The woman did not want to file charges in connection to the incident until she talked with her employer. 
A woman came to the police department to turn herself in on active warrants from Carter County. The woman bonded out, and a new court date was set. 
A man reported the theft of money from his mother by a family member. The matter is under investigation. 
A traffic accident was report at the intersection of Preacher Roe and Arkansas. One of the involved parties was taken into custody on an active warrant from Wright County. 
A male subject was arrested on the 1000 block of Worley Drive on several active warrants. 
Robertson-Drago Funeral Home reported a theft. The matter was forwarded to the investigations division. 
October 7
A possible overdose was reported on Lincoln Avenue. The male subject was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment. 
An incident with a juvenile was reported at Quality Inn. The situation was referred to the juvenile office. 
Stolen disc golf targets from the James Monroe Memorial Park were recovered at a residence on State Route JJ. The suspect faces felony stealing charges for the items, valued at nearly $2400. 
A traffic crash, involving a motorcycle, was reported at Olden and North Howell. The occupants of the motorcycle were taken to a Springfield hospital with critical injuries. 
October 8
A male subject was reported leaving the emergency room at Ozarks Healthcare with intent to walk into moving traffic. The man was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation. 
A male subject with an active warrant was taken into custody. The man was transported to the Howell County Jail. 
A sexual offense was reported on Amyx. The matter is under investigation.  
A male reportedly brandished a firearm earlier in the day. The case was closed in the matter, due to a lack of evidence. 
A trespasser was reported on the 200 block of Leyda. It was learned that an assault had occurred during the incident. A probable cause statement was forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 
An officer was dispatched to Ozarks Healthcare in reference to a sexual offense. The investigation continues. 
A driver in a traffic crash at Porter Wagoner and Gibson Avenue was issued a citation for driving while suspended. 
A man allegedly made threats toward someone’s family. The incident was reported by a female subject at the West Plains Police Department. No charges were sought, but the incident was documented. 
Two females came to the police department to report a sexual offense. Charges are being sought in the matter. 
A possible court order violation was reported. A probable cause statement was forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor. 
An assault was reported on the 1300 block of Preacher Roe. Charges of fourth degree assault are being sought. 
A woman reported that her vehicle caught fire when she started it. The fire was extinguished by the West Plains Fire Department. 
October 9
A woman reported an altercation and the loss of medication, at a residence on Thayer Avenue. The investigation is ongoing. 
A stabbing was reported on Saint Louis Street. The victim sustained serious injuries, and the suspect was charged with first degree assault. 
A report of harassment was received from a resident on Washington Avenue. A male suspect has been charged in the incident. 
A verbal domestic was reported on Kody Drive. No charges are being sought.  
A miniature bike was reported stolen from a residence on Missouri Avenue. The investigation is ongoing. 
A domestic assault was reported on the 1000 block of 3rd Street. Charges are being sought against the male suspect for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. 
A male subject and his brother were in a physical altercation on Amy Street, in which the man struck his brother with a baseball bat. Charges are being sought. 
October 10
The Ranch House reported a theft. A possible suspect was identified, and the case remains under investigation. 
A male and female subject were located at James Monroe Memorial Park after hours. Citations were given to both individuals after the smell of marijuana was detected, and marijuana was seen in plain sight. 
Found property was reported on the 300 block of Harlin Drive. The property was collected, and a report was completed. 
A suicidal subject was reported on Worcester. The subject was transported to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation. 
A suicidal female was reported on Jackson Street. The woman was transported to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation. 
A physical altercation was reported on Lanton Road. No injuries were detected, and no charges were filed. A juvenile at the scene was referred to juvenile authorities. 
A report was received of the fraudulent use of a debit card. The matter remains under investigation. 
October 11
Vandalism was reported on the pavilion and restrooms at People’s Park. 
Items were reported stolen from a residence on Stephens Street. The investigation continues. 
Officers responded to an incident of child abuse on 7th Street. Child services is continuing to investigate the incident. 
A domestic disturbance was reported on Burke. Neither involved party wished to pursue charges. 
An assault was reported in the Southern Hills area. Upon responding to the incident, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located at the scene. The items were collected for destruction. 
October 12
A knife was reported lost or stolen on Johnson Street. 
A report of child abuse that had allegedly occurred in the city limits was found to be unsubstantiated. The case was closed. 
Property damage was reported on the 800 block of Lanton. A report was completed. 
Found property, located on County Road 1770 was placed in evidence for safekeeping. 
October 13
Found property was located at Family Dollar on Porter Wagoner. The item was placed in evidence for safekeeping. 
Officers were dispatched to the probation and parole office for a possibly suicidal subject. The subject was arrested on an active warrant. 
Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia was located on Lambert Lane. The items were retrieved and were later destroyed. 
October 14
An unknown individual reportedly stole cash from Summit Truck Group. The case is under investigation. 
A well-being check was conducted at a residence on Grace Avenue. Contact was made with a male subject, and a report was completed. 
A woman reported that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. A report was taken. 
A runaway juvenile was reported at a residence on 6th Street. The juvenile returned a short time later. 
October 15
A stolen vehicle was reported at Baymont Inn. A suspect was identified, and the vehicle was returned a short time later. 
A resident on McFarland Drive reported that her daughter had gone missing in Dallas, Texas. The investigation continues. 
A driver was cited during a traffic stop on Jefferson for not having a valid license. 
Found property was located on Aid Avenue. The item was placed in evidence for safekeeping. 
A male subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and multiple warrants, during a traffic stop on Maple.
