While on patrol, Officer Brent Keepes located an open door. He cleared the building and the keyholder secured the building.
Officer Gill responded to Gleghorn for a report of stealing. This case is still under investigation and being sent to the Detective's Division at this time.
Officer Gill responded to Curry Street for a requested wellbeing check. Officers located a deceased individual in the residence. They determined the death to be of natural causes, and this case is considered closed at this time.
Officer Conner Burnes responded to Myrtle Street for a report of a disturbance. He found a couple involved in a verbal argument. Both claimed nothing physical happened. The parties separated.
Officer Conner Burnes received a report of lost identification.
July 30
Officer Kerley responded to US Highway 63 for an injured deer. He found the deer significantly injured and humanely dispatched it.
Officer Austin Deshazo completed a security check on an abandoned vehicle blocked the driveway of a business and had it towed.
Dt. Joe Neuschwander arrested a subject on Greene County and State of Rhode Island warrants.
Sgt. Brandon Romans investigated a domestic incident on Grace Avenue. A verbal argument occurred. Nothing further is expected.
Officer Kerley arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Kerley responded to Porter Wagoner Blvd for a disturbance. Investigation learned a male physically assaulted his girlfriend at an unknown address. Officers arrested the male for domestic assault.
July 31
Officer Chris Barrett responded to Pennsylvania St. for a report of a vehicle theft.
August 1
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force, HSI-Springfield (MO), and the Wright County Sheriff's Department, served a residential search warrant on Marshfield Street in Hartville concerning the sexual exploitation of children. Several items capable of storing digital evidence were seized as evidence. Charges are pending the completion of digital forensics.
West Plains Police Department UAS pilots were called upon to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol concerning a subject that fled from a traffic stop in Crider. They completed the mission without incident.
Officer Burnes received a call regarding harassment on Porter Wagoner Blvd. The business reported they received dozens of phone calls in which subjects would curse or use profanities at the employees. This case is still under investigation.
Cpl. Micah McKemie responded to Lynn Street for a disturbance involving a verbal and physical altercation between family members who reside together. There were no injuries and no cooperative victims.
Officer Daimen Meyer responded to Hoglen Street for a report of burglary. Investigation identified stolen property. This case is open and inactive pending further information.
Officer Meyer arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
August 2
Officer Gill received a report of sexual misconduct. The case is being forwarded to the Detectives’ Division at this time.
Officer Barrett took a report of a stolen cell phone.
Officer Gill assisted Oregon County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of one on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Gill received a report of a court order violation. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Nathaniel Siegrist spoke to an individual reporting attempted identity theft.
Officer Siegrist received a report of a child custody issue. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Cpl. McKemie responded to Lanton Road for a court order violation. Charges will be sought.
Officer Mingus responded to Meadow Road for a suspicious subject. No unusual statements were made to law enforcement.
Officer Mingus responded to Opal Avenue for a disturbance. Investigation learned a verbal altercation took place at another location between a couple. The two separated afterwards.
August 3
Officer Jacob Beadell responded to Olden Street for a disturbance. Officers arrested the subject and EMS transported the victim for an unrelated illness. This case will be referred to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Officer Gill received a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers later recovered the vehicle and returned it to the owner.
Officer Dobbs responded to 3rd and 4th Streets for a report of a subject in the area carrying several items from multiple properties. They located the suspect and placed them under arrest. All recovered and unclaimed stolen items will be placed in evidence for safekeeping. A probable case statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutors Office.
Officer Siegrist responded to Monks and Renfrow in reference to a verbal disturbance.
Officer Shell responded to Preacher Roe Blvd. for a report of stealing. Charges will be forwarded to the West Plains Municipal Courthouse to review.
Officer Robert Shell took a report of a sexual assault.
August 4
Officer Meyer responded to North Howell for a report of an active disturbance. Investigation located an intoxicated individual below the legal age to consume alcohol. This case has been referred to the West Plains Municipal Prosecutor's Office for review.
Officers responded to East Main for a verbal domestic. The officers were able to separate the individuals.
Cpl. Stephens arrested two individuals on an outstanding warrants.
Officer Siegrist responded to Jefferson Ave in reference to an unresponsive individual.
Officer Shell arrested one after a stealing investigation.
Officer Siegrist responded to North Utah St in reference to suspicious circumstances. They placed an individual into protective custody.
Officer Shell responded to Amyx for a report of an assault. Officers took a report at a second location and arrested two subjects. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
August 5
Officer Beadell received a report of someone harming themselves. The individual made self-harming comments. They transported then transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Officer Gill arrested one on an outstanding warrant from Phelps County.
Officer Shell responded to Kentucky for a stealing report. They obtained video footage of an individual stealing a bottle of Crown Royal.
Officer Shell took a report of stealing. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Officer Mingus received a report of harassment. An individual reported someone posted harassing comments on social media.
Officer Keepes arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
Cpl. Thomas Manning arrested one on an outstanding warrant. The individual barricaded themselves into the residence and the owner gave consent to search.
Officer Mingus responded to County Road 4000 for a disturbance.
August 6
Officer Beadell responded to North Howell Ave for a report of suspicious circumstances. Investigation led to the arrest of one for assault. This case will be referred to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Officer Keepes received notice of a man walking into traffic. They took him into custody and placed him on a mental evaluation the local hospital.
Officer Keepes responded to West Sixth Street for a disturbance. He found two people had a verbal argument. No charges will be sought.
August 8
Cpl. Wesley Stuart responded to State Route K for a report of a suicidal individual. They had the individual transported to Ozarks Healthcare for a 96-hour hold for a mental health evaluation.
Officer Gill arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Barrett responded to Preacher Roe Blvd for a person previously trespassed from a business that returned.
Officer Kerley responded to domestic disturbance on Lanton Road for a fight between siblings. Investigation found the sister and brother argued and the sister threatened her brother with a knife.
Officer Kerley took a report of stealing and found the matter a civil issue.
Officer Kerley received a report of someone asking a juvenile for inappropriate pictures. Investigation found an adult texting the juvenile's fake account and asked for inappropriate pictures. The case will be forwarded to the West Plains Detective Division for further investigation.
Officer Kerley spoke to an individual reporting they were scammed out of money.
Officer Keepes responded for an assault at Walmart. Investigation and interviews found an assault did occur. Charges will be sought.
Officer Keepes received a report of a domestic assault at Crestwood Circle. Interviews found a physical domestic incident did occur. Charges will be sought.
August 9
Officer Deshazo responded to Lanton Road for a report of arson. The case shall be considered closed due to lack of evidence.
Officer Barrett assisted with an individual attempting self-harm in the parking lot of a business. EMS transported the individual.
Officer Kerley responded to Nevada for a report of a parent who allegedly assaulted their children. A probable cause statement will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office.
Officer Siegrist took a report of a dog bite.
Officer Siegrist responded to Monks St for a disturbance. The parties were separated.
Officer Siegrist took a report of a cybercrime from First Street.
Officer Mingus responded to Preacher Roe Blvd for threatening messages sent to an individual due to a misunderstanding.
August 11
Officer Meyer arrested one on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Shell responded to Lanton Rd. for a call of a disturbance in progress. They made one arrest and placed them on a 24-hour hold. Charges will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Sonic Drive In on Gibson Street for a report of a terroristic threat at the facility. This investigation remains ongoing.
