August 19
Officer Austin Deshazo responded to Jackson Street for a report of a possible domestic assault. Investigation discovered an altercation took place and neither party involved wished to pursue charges.
Cpl. Brandon Stephens arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Ivie Powell investigated a two-vehicle accident on private property.
The Howell County Sheriff's Department requested a digital forensic extraction conducted on a cellular device as part of a missing person investigation. They completed the process, and the device and forensic report were provided to the case agent.
The Southwest MO Cyber Crimes Task Force and HSI-Springfield served a residential search warrant on East Bennett Street in Springfield. Officers seized several items of evidence and charges are pending the completion of digital forensics. The investigation is on-going.
Officer Jesse Martin responded to Gibson Street for an alarm. Investigation found an open door at an adjoining business. Officers cleared the building and found nothing out of place.
August 20
Officer Connor Burnes assisted the Department of Social Services with a child abuse and neglect investigation. During the investigation, the child reported having a bruise they received from their stepfather. They stated rough play caused the bruise and they were not worried about being at home.
This case will be considered closed and unfounded.
Officer Ivie Powell arrested one individual on an outstanding warrant.
Officer Kerley responded to a two-vehicle accident at US 63 and Preacher Roe. One vehicle left the scene before officer arrival.

August 21
Cpl. Wesley Stuart found an open door on Olden Street. He secured the building.
Officer Jesse Martin responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a verbal disturbance. The parties separated for the remainder of the evening.
Officer Keepes arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.
Officer Keepes spoke to an individual reporting a sexual assault.
Assault 22
Cpl. Stuart responded to West Seventh Street for a report of a disturbance. One individual reported an assault took place but refused to cooperate with officers. The parties separated for the evening.
Officer Barrett responded to Cass Avenue for a report of a disturbance. Individuals reported a verbal argument occurred.
Officer Powell responded to Court Square and spoke to an individual reporting someone intercepted a check they mailed for an insurance payment and cashed it. This matter remains under investigation.
Officer Powell responded to W Second Street for a report of sexual abuse involving a juvenile. This matter is under investigation.
Officer Keepes arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.
Officer Kerley arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.
Sgt. Colter Reid responded to the pavilion at the West Plains Aquatic Park in reference to a report of a male subject urinating on the side of the pavilion. They removed the subject from the park and issued a citation.
Officer Kerley took a report of property damage. The case is ongoing, pending video footage.
Officer Daiman Meyer responded to Hubert Redburn Drive for a report of a disturbance. Investigation learned two subjects had a physical altercation and officers arrested the aggressor. This case will be referred to the Howell County Prosecutor's Office for review.
August 23
Cpl. Stephens arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.
Officer Burnes took a report of a juvenile with nicotine products. This case will be sent to the Juvenile Office.
Officer Dobbs responded to Texas Street for a report of an animal bite. Investigation learned a neighbor’s dog bit an individual. They located and transported the dog to the West Plains Animal Control for quarantine. The owner of the dog received citations.
Officer Kerley responded to Porter Wagoner regarding a domestic assault. One individual advised officers of the situation and then left. The other party left the scene prior to the officers' arrival. Interviews with witnesses found the first individual lied and they were the assailant. Officer Kerley arrested the individual.
August 24
Sgt. Joshua Wichowski responded to Davidson St for a report of a disturbance. Investigation found a verbal argument took place.
Sgt. Wichowski responded to East State Route K for a report of a possible domestic disturbance with a woman screaming from the residence. None of the involved parties were willing to pursue charges.
Officer Barrett investigated a two-vehicle accident at Broadway and Missouri Avenues.
Officer Shell responded to Broadway for a disturbance. After interviews, officers later located and arrested an individual.
Officer Jerry Mingus took a report of harassment.
Cpl. Manning arrested one individual for an outstanding warrant.
