Calls for Service 

A disturbance was reported on North Walnut. A mentally challenged individual had grabbed his manager by the neck. The manager did not want to press charges but did give a statement on the incident. 

A residential alarm sounded on Springfield. No one was found at the scene, and the area was cleared. 

A concerned caller reported that she had not seen her neighbor for some time and was concerned of her whereabouts. Contact was made with the woman, who stated that she had travelled to Springfield. 

A man fell and injured his knee in front of Town & Country. EMS responded to assist the man. 

A caller reported a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the Love’s parking lot. The man was gone when an officer arrived. 

A resident on Belshe reported a dog in her yard that was fighting with her dogs and causing a nuisance. Contact was made with the owner of the dog that was causing the nuisance. 

A vehicle accident was reported near Love’s caused a wrong-way driver. One vehicle was in the median of U.S. Highway 63, and another was on its side and on fire. Contact was made with the four occupants of that vehicle that was on its side. The driver of the vehicle in the median was trapped inside his vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol took over the scene a short time later. 

October 17

Halloween decorations were reported stolen from a residence on East 6th. Extra patrol was provided in the area. 

October 18

An argument was observed by a caller near Snappy Mart. The reporting party stated that one of the people involved in the argument might possibly be intoxicated. 

An officer was requested at the Willow Springs School for a fire drill. 

A vehicle was towed from westbound U.S. Highway 63 after striking a deer, causing a radiator leak. 

October 19

A disturbance was reported at apartments on East Main. The caller stated that a neighbor was throwing items down the stairs. Contact was made with the neighbor, who stated that she had dropped something, but was not throwing things. An active warrant from West Plains was discovered, and the woman was detained until West Plains Police could come get her. 

A woman on East 6th reported that someone had been looking into her window around 4:30 in the morning. Extra patrol was already being conducted in the area, due to recent thefts. 

October 20

Extra foot patrol began, due to a report from a resident at in senior housing on East 6th Street, saying that decorations had been stolen from her porch. Several items had recently been reported stolen in the area. 

October 21

G&W Foods reported that a male subject, who has been caught shoplifting, keeps coming back to the store, after being told to leave. Video of the incident was provided to the police for evidence.
