June 24
A caller reported a truck that was broken down on North Center Street. The caller stated that they were trying to get it fixed so they could move it.
A request was made for a resident on State Route 76 who was wanting to go to the stress unit.
A male and female were reportedly arguing at It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere. The female subject was taken into custody on a Texas County Warrant.
A well-being check was requested for a female subject on Grand for suspicion of abuse. Extra patrol was conducted in the area.
A resident on Grand reported hearing tapping on a window of the residence. No one was located in the area.
A large aggressive dog was reported roaming in the area of Campbell.
June 25
Two vehicles were observed parked near the school after hours. Contact was made with two male subjects who agreed to leave the property.
A woman reported that she had gone to take her mother to the doctor, only to find that her mother’s apartment was empty and covered in blood. It was determined that the woman’s mother had fallen and hit her head, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
A well-being check was requested at a residence on Pine Grove Road. The residents at the home reported that the reporting party was suffering from mental issues.
A female subject was arrested on a felony warrant from Wright County at a residence on Garfield.
June 26
A female subject reported that her boyfriend would not leave her apartment on State Route 76. The woman’s boyfriend left the apartment without incident.
A female subject reported that her boyfriend was being abusive. Information was given to the woman about getting a protection order, along with information regarding domestic violence.
A resident on Sixth Street called to report that his credit cards and Social Security card had been stolen.
Comfort Inn reported that a guest brought two dogs to the hotel which urinated in a room and in the lobby. The hotel also stated that the guests had smoked in a room. The hotel was required to contact police before charging the guests for the violations.
A female subject reported that her ex-husband had refused to return her children, violating custody paperwork. Charges were sent to the county prosecutor.
June 27
A call was received for an unresponsive male subject. Once at the residence, it was determined that the reporting party was medicated, and believed there was a man in the floor when there was not.
A resident on East Valley reported that someone entered his garage and set a paper towel on fire. Other items were found to be damaged as well.
A male subject reported that his siblings had used his credit card to make purchases of more than $700 without his permission. The theft occurred in Kansas, and information was sent to authorities there.
June 28
Midwest Walnut reported that a man walked into the business and was acting strangely. The man reportedly left, walked across the street, and entered Subway, where he continued to exhibit strange behavior, making employees uncomfortable.
A caller reported that a subject was walking through yards on center street.
A male subject was seen getting into a woman’s car at Snappy Mart while she was getting gas. The owner of Snappy Mart made the man leave the parking lot.
A suspicious subject was reported in front of Hank’s Garage on South Harris. The male was taken to Ozarks Healthcare for a mental evaluation.
A cell phone was found at the high school gym. The owner of the phone was located, and it was returned.
A fire was reported at the old Horak Trailer Park. Contact was made with a male subject in the area who had blood on his hands and clothing. The subject was released at the scene.
June 29
G&W Foods reported a theft. The suspect had already left the store. The store declined to press charges against the teen, who was identified on video surveillance.
July 1
An assault was reported between two tenants at apartments on State Route 76.
July 2
A female subject reported a stolen cooler. The cooler was at the residence of the reporting party’s former sister-in-law. The second woman stated that she would arrange for the return of the cooler.
A caller reported that someone was knocking on doors and running on Bryan Street. No one was located in the area.
A woman reported that a cat was trapped in a dumpster behind the elementary school. The cat was removed from the dumpster.
July 3
An employee at U.S. Bank reported that someone dropped their keys into the night depository.
July 4
An out-of-control juvenile was reported on Scott Street. An officer spoke to the teenage male.
A male subject reported a custody dispute. The man and his ex-wife were advised to clarify the custody arrangement.
A well-being check was requested for a male subject on East Main. Contact was made with the man, who was fine.
A well-being check was requested for a male subject on State Route 76 who had been seen in 24 hours. The male was not able to be located.
A driver was booked and released on three citations during a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 60/63.
July 5
The Howell County Sheriff’s Office reported that there was a subject at Casey’s who was wanted for a possible stolen vehicle.
A dumpster fire was reported on West 4th Street. A resident was burning wood in a burn barrel and believed that an ember must have ignited the dumpster, which was heavily damaged.
An abandoned vehicle was reported at Jasper Engine.
July 6
A call was received stating that a man was walking around the area of 4th Street with a rifle. It was determined that the man was an animal control officer who was working on following up on a vicious animal report.
A license plate was reported stolen by a resident who came to the police department.
A well-being check was requested for a male subject on Garfield Street. Contact was made with the man, who was fine.
A well-being check was requested for a male subject on the bench at G&W Foods. The man stated that he was homeless and in route to Nevada. He refused medical attention.
An animal was reported in a vehicle at the United Methodist Church. The vehicle was found to be running with the air on.
A driver was booked and released on East Main for no valid operator license and failure to register a motor vehicle.
July 7
A physical domestic disturbance was reported at Town & Country. The parties were separated, and neither wished to pursue charges. Management asked that both individuals be trespassed from the property.
A resident reported a registration tab being stolen from a vehicle while at Booster Field.
Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Burnham Road. The driver was charged with driving while revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
