Calls For Service
November 25
Dollar General reported that a customer left a handgun in the bathroom. Officer Joby Hoopes made contact with the customer.
Dispatch reported that an individual was causing a traffic hazard on St. Rt. DD. Officer Joby Hoopes responded and did not locate anyone.
A woman reported her husband was intoxicated and got out of their vehicle. She was concerned for his safety. Officer Jada Gunter located the husband and returned him to his wife.
A woman reported her husband and left their residence on Corn Ave with a head injury and confusion. Officer David Hocking responded to find the husband had returned. He called EMS for medical assistance.
Information of an assault from another agency passed to Officer Hocking. He met with an individual and after further investigation at a residence on Sixth St., it was determined a verbal incident had taken place. Both parties agreed to the 12-hour separation rule. 
Officer Jada Gunter completed security checks at: city park and football field, UPS, Fixtures for Less, American Diesel, FGBC, airport, Baileys, Willow West, golf course, West Plains Bank, Simmons Bank, the low water crossing on S. Center for flooding, and Loves
November 26
Dispatch notified Officer Jada Gunter of an assault at Booster Field. Individuals were gone on arrival.
Individual on East Main reported her dog was barking and upset. Officer Cary Gates checked the area and found it clear. The individual thanked officer for checking.
November 27
Officer Jim Hedlesten checked the Bear Crossing Truck Wash gate checked for security and made contact with keyholder.
November 28
Officers were dispatched to Mercy Clinic for a report of a suspicious individual exhibiting behavior like stalking toward an employee. After clinic hours, Asst. Chief Alan Lewis spoke with the individual again at the Mercy Clinic and ordered person to stay away from the clinic or face arrest for trespassing.
November 29
Officer Jada Gunter checked a suspicious vehicle parked behind the new gym. She also checked the doors for security.
Per request, an individual was issued a trespassing warning from a residence on Ash Street by Asst. Chief Alan Lewis.
Officer Cary Gates noticed a vehicle with the front bumper dragging the street. Contact was made with the driver who stated they had struck a coyote on the way to work. A tow truck was called.
Officer Jada Gunter completed area security checks at: Mercy Clinic, First General Baptist Church, and the golf course.
November 30
An individual reported property damage to a vehicle. Chief Wes Ellison took a report of the vehicle with scratches and damage to the tires.
Assistant Chief Alan Lewis spoke with an individual from a tree company who was dumping tree waste at the city’s burn site. He explained only tree waste from inside the city is allowed at the site. The individual reloaded the tree waste and left. 
Officer Joby Hoopes was dispatched for a customer issue at Casey’s General Store. 
Chief Wes Ellison investigated a verbal disturbance on North Grand St.
Officer Jada Gunter completed area security checks at: the golf course, airport, UPS, Fixtures for Less, American Diesel, Willow Care, FGBC, Loves, Baileys, and MoDot.
SRO Glen Moore reported a possible incident at a residence on Fourth Street involving children and a weapon. Assistant Chief Alan Lewis responded and found all clear and safe in the household.
