Calls For Service
March 23
Officer Ryan McGinnis conducted a security check at Lee’s Tire. 
Officers Jake Cronin and Cary Gates assisted a motorist with a flat tire on their boat trailer.
Assistant Chief Al Lewis responded to the Willow Springs High School to make contact with a juvenile having suicidal thoughts. He met with the school counselor and juvenile and secured the area for EMS to transport the juvenile. 
Officers responded to a residence on East Main Street for a juvenile not allowed at the residence. Officer Cronin explained to a juvenile that the parents make the rules. Officer Joe Barnhouse spoke to the parent of the other party. 
Officer Cronin removed hay bales from US 60-63 that created a driving hazard.
Officer Cronin responded to North Pine Street for a report of a noise complaint. He found an individual playing loud music and had them turn it down.
March 24
Officer Gates assisted a motorist with a disabled trailer.
Officer Gates responded to a non-injury vehicle accident on US 60-63. The vehicle hydroplaned into the median. There were no injuries.
After receiving a call of a woman walking along Bolerjack Road seeming in distress, Officer Cronin responded for a well-being check. An individual previously in a verbal domestic and stated she did not want to make a statement.
Due to flooding conditions, Officer Gates shut down South Center and Old Rolla Road.
Officer Joby Hoopes spoke with an individual reporting an issue with a child custody exchange.
Officers received a request for a well-being check of an individual on South Center Street. After thoroughly checking around the outside of the residence, they determined a cause to breach the residence for fear of the individual’s well-being. They discovered no one inside. The individual later called the officers to explain the situation.
March 25
Officer Cronin responded to Willow Springs Apartments for a report of a trespassed person on the property. The individual could not be located.
March 26
Officer Jim Hedlesten received a request by Howell County Sheriff’s Office to respond for an alarm call at Peterbilt. He encountered a subject stating they were an employee.
While on routine patrol Officer McGinnis noticed a broken window and conducted a security check of the building. He found everything secure.
March 27
Assistant Chief Lewis responded to a well-being check for an individual parked at Yarber Funeral Home. Investigation found an intoxicated individual sitting in the vehicle. The individual relinquished the vehicle keys until their impairment subsided. 
Assistant Chief Lewis took a report of a non-injury vehicle accident. The accident occurred at the high school and both parties left the scene.
Officer Hocking took a report of a missing juvenile. He contacted SRO Cunningham who relayed the juvenile to be at a baseball game. Officer David Hocking informed the parent who request no further follow up.
March 28
Officer McGinnis responded to Simmons Bank for a commercial alarm. He found the building secure.
Officer McGinnis conducted a security check at the Willow Springs Schools.
Officer Hocking responded to Lee’s Tire for a commercial alarm. He found the building secure.
Officer Barnhouse received a call of children playing in a storm drain near Town and Country Supermarket. The children were gone when he arrived. 
Officers responded to Willow Springs Apartments for suspicious noises behind a residence. They did not locate anything.
Officer Hoopes took a report of a theft.
Officer Hoopes took a report of forgery pertaining to stolen checks. This matter is under investigation. 
Officer Hoopes is investigating a report of mental and physical abuse to juveniles.
March 29
Officer McGinnis responded to Simmons Bank for a commercial alarm. He found the building secure. 
Officer McGinnis conducted a security check at the Willow Springs Schools.
Officers responded to West Fourth Street for a report of suspicious activity. Unknown persons parked a camper in front of a residence and then entered the residence without permission. Officers informed the camper owners to move from the area.
March 30
Officer Hocking responded back to West Fourth Street for the camper parked in front of a residence. He informed the owners they had to move the camper by the next day and other officers would be informed.
