Calls for Service

August 27

School Resource Officer Paden Turnbull received information from the school nurse of a student that had potentially taken a lethal dose of over-the-counter pain medication. They transported the student to Ozarks Healthcare for further care.

Deputy Chief Ryan Boyle took a report of a missing firearm. 

School Resource Officer Turnbull received information of suspicious activity in the boy's bathroom in the high school. He located one student with a vaping device, and another with suspected marijuana wax. Both the vape, and suspected marijuana wax field tested positive for cannabis.

Deputy Chief Boyle, Sgt. David Hocking, and Officer Mark Templemere responded to the intersection of S Center St and W Valley in regard to an individual reporting they found two young children wandering along the road unattended. They returned both children to where they belonged without incident.

Deputy Chief Boyle conducted a wellbeing check on West Fourth St. 

Sgt. Hocking conducted a wellbeing check on East Main St. 

August 28

Officers Templemere and Kreuser attempted to assist with a wrong-way pursuit traveling through Willow Springs. They terminated their assistance at the city limits. 

Officer Templemere assisted with a child custody dispute.

Sgt. Hocking spoke to an individual at the department office in reference to a fraudulent check to an unknown suspect. This is currently under investigation.

Officers Barnhouse, Templemere, Kreuser and Sgt. Hocking investigated a non-injury traffic collision. 

August 30

Lt. Zeller responded to Snappy Mart for a verbal disturbance in the parking lot.

Lt. Zeller assisted children’s division with an investigation on North Grand St. 

Officer Hedlesten conducted a wellbeing check on US 60/63.

Officer Hedlesten responded to a verbal dispute on West High Street. 

August 31

Officer Hedlesten responded to West Fourth St for a report of a juvenile problem. 

September 1

Officer McGinnis investigated a non-injury private property vehicle accident.

Officer McGinnis assisted EMS with a medical call on North Grand St. 

Officer McGinnis assisted the fire department with calls on East Main St and North Ferguson St. 

Deputy Chief Boyle conducted a wellbeing check on East Sixth St. 

Officer Clark conducted a wellbeing check on US 60/63.

 

For the week officers: assisted with three animal calls, conducted 10 area checks, assisted three motorists, investigated nine suspicious incidents, spoke with seventeen individuals requesting or relaying information, returned requested contact with five people, spoke with eight individuals at the department office, and issued thirty-two traffic warnings.
