Calls for Service 
August 9
A woman was charged with two counts of stealing after she was observed on video surveillance, removing items Grace 365 Mercantile. The stolen items were valued at $344.
A woman reported a stolen license plate. A report was taken, and the woman was advised to go file for lost registration. 
August 10
A male subject came to the police department to claim his keys that had been left there. 
A well-being check was requested for a male subject on East Sixth Street. An officer had to gain entry to the man’s apartment after the subject of the well-being check was unresponsive. The man, who had been diagnosed with COVID-19, was found lying in his floor. An initial ambulance call was cancelled when the male subject refused medical treatment. Contact was made with Willow Care Nursing Home, who initiated the well-being check, for further instruction. 
A Willow Springs teacher called, reporting that they believed two students, ages 11 and 13, had been kicked out of the home of a family member. The teacher believed that the students did not have a place to stay. A hotline call was placed to the Children’s Division, and contact was made with the family member of the students. 
There were no injuries in a two-vehicle accident near Snappy Mart. One of the drivers had warrants from Texas County and was advised to make contact with the Texas County Sheriff’s Office. 
Contact was made with a victim of a dog bite and the owner of the dog. 
August 11
A female subject at Sunshine Village reported a theft. A report was taken. 
A male subject reported that another man had passed him while driving on Business 60-63, and yelled threats from his open window. The reporting party also stated that the suspect swerved his vehicle over the white line, like he was going to intentionally collide with the reporting party’s vehicle. 
August 12
A child was reported walking around a parking lot on State Route 76. The reporting party was able to get the child back to his residence before an officer arrived on the scene. THe mother of the child stated that the child must have opened the door to the residence, which had been shut and locked. 
Extra patrol was requested on North Pine, due to a possible prowler. 
An ambulance was dispatched for a male subject complaining of leg pain, while walking on Business 60-63. The man was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. 
A dome light was reported to have been left on inside a vehicle at a car lot on West Main. An employee stated that it must have been left on by a potential buyer, and that he would return to the lot to turn off the light.
